I bought a Hk P30LS a few months back. I got it in 40sw and I love the gun. Its the first i ever had. Im really a FN fan and have a FNX 40SW & FNX 45 ( non tactical ) thats a awsome gun but thats for a different discussion for another day. But im wondering how others felt about it? Any pros or cons? I have been shooting a lil left with it but then noticed the front site was over to the left a bit. These are factory set night sights. I decided to push it over to the right and center it. I also laser bore sighted it. Looks good. Im gunna shoot it tomorrow and see if it fixes the problem. Any thoughts about the p30 would be great. Thanks

What variant is that? I ask because I thought mine had an issue shooting left when I bought it, but it was me, not the handgun.

Its a HK p30ls
Its the long slide.
Thats is the name of it. Its the middle gun of the 3

Owned one in 9m... Holds the record for the shortest ownership stay in my safe..

Trigger was worse than atrocious.

Yep the trigger was terrible, but I probably dry fired mine 10k or more while watching TV…every commercial I would just pull the trigger as many time as I could…really made a difference…BIG difference

I think he was asking if it was DA/SA (V3) or LEM (V1), but I think the safety models are only available as DA/SA (V3), which is what your's would be.

Correct. The OP's P30 is a V3 (safety and decocker). I'm in agreement with @460Shooter in that I sold my V3 and went with the V1 (LEM) trigger because I did not care for the V3.

I own several H&Ks and enjoy them all, as one person said previously the triggers are different. I have sent all 4 of mine to a gunsmith in CO who does a lot of work with H&Ks, when they came back they were the best. There are so many choices out there but H&K is what i carry and shoot, My Colts and Browning's are safe queens' now, and the P30L is one of my favorites.

Mine is the long slide version and it is da/sa. Thats what i prefer. I just dont like striker fired guns. Id never buy one again. But its just my opinion. My hk shoots great. I never heard of the trigger being ****ty how far back was that. I bought my son the HK45 compact. Its still in the box. Hes in the army and had to leave. So its brand new.

I have a P30 v3 with safety and a P30SK v3 sans safety both in 9mm. The P30SK is my EDC... I'm a really huge fan of these guns...from their dependability, shoot ability and the overall comfort of the customizable grips. I'm very seriously contemplating the LEM version in the P30SK. I have a Sig P365XL that has been in rotation with the HK..but I find it spending more and more time in the safe.

I went with the LEM in the USP and P2000. For me it's pretty close to the perfect trigger: Long enough trigger pull to make firing deliberate, light trigger pull, a short reset, and consistent trigger pull from the 1st round to the last.

It isn't standard but you can install a safety if you want with the LEM trigger. It's a non-standard configuration but it can be done if you want to.

I have two P30SK's, one with the LEM trigger and the other with the V3 trigger. Both are 9x19.

I bought the V3 trigger version first and have practiced quite alot with DA/SA semi-autos and DAO revolvers to be comfortable with the different trigger pulls.

The LEM trigger is about a close to a "striker" fired pistol that I'd be comfortable carrying.

The P30SK-V3 is my main defense handgun at present.

A full size P30 or the long slide version would be interesting to try.

Love the P30, but I will only ever buy LEM or striker fired HKs again.

I dont find the "Match" triggers in the Elite/Expert/23 too bad..

I have a P2SK LEM and a P365...It was far to easy to just drop the 365 in a pocket instead of clipping on my P2Sk for my short runs to the store during the madness that was 2020, etc..

I had a P365 for that purpose...but did not care for the grip..never felt right..so I sold it. Picked up a Kimber Micro 9 to replace it. I really like the Kimber a lot..BUT..that P30SK just fits so perfectly good in my hand.

Because a lot of us carried in condition one for many years and are used to a safety!

I understand that if you are able to carry cocked and locked but on a LEM it’s like having a safety on a long, albeit light, DA pull. In this case wouldn’t you just “sweep a non existent safety” so to speak vs adding one that only provided a marginal increase in safety with none of the single action benefits. I AM NOT making a judgement just asking a question as to why one would want a safety on a LEM gun.

I, myself, very much DISLIKE the LEM guns. Crappy triggers speak to me and in the P30’s case it’s not a half bad trigger with the exception of the reset which......well I don’t think you need to worry about accidentally doubling :).

LEM + manual safety isn't a factory option, but it can be done if someone wants to. Personally, I don't want that configuration so I didn't do that.

They call it a long slide i dont know why its only maybe 1/2 inch longer. I see no difference between the fnx40 or the long slide. I do like the gun.

Sure. I handled an Elite and the trigger was a bit nicer. But when I can go buy a CZ Shadow 2 with an even better trigger for the same price, I'll go CZ every time.

I thought about sending my HK45 to Gray Guns, but honestly I bought mine when they were still selling for like $1000. I decided I just wasn't willing to put another $350 into a plastic gun. Plus the HK 45 was a touch small for me in the grip also. What I sincerely wish for is a LEM HK45 with interchangeable side panels like the P30 has, but with the sandpaper stippling of the HK45. Better yet, a VP45 with 12 round magazines.

If HK ever opens a Custom Shop (don’t hold your breath) they should offer the Greyguns Reduced Reset Csrry Perfection Package. In the meantime, just send the HK to Greyguns.

I like my P30 and P2000 with their “crappy” v3 trigger variants but eventually I’d like to get the P2000 worked on by GG.

Bill Springfield out of CO also does a reduce reset trigger job, I had him do one on my P30 LEM and am very happy with it.
