I was just looking around for a HK compact and noticed they have two models that are almost identical. I believe the latest version is the HK45 compact. I'm wondering if the USP compact is being discontinued. I think the design is almost 20 years old. Has anyone heard anything about that? Also if anyone knows of any promotions or sales on either one I would appreciate a pm. Thanks.

The H&K website still has it listed. I have the USP in 9mm compact and like the gun very much. Also the present day German army is issued the USP in 9mm. Many police dept in Germany carry this pistol. It is referred to as the P8 over there.

heckler & koch usp pistols.....

To my knowledge, HK did not yet drop the USP series from the US line.
The Ablemarle County VA Police Department issues the USP compact in .40S&W. The FFDO uses the USP Compact in law enforcement modification formats too, .40S&W caliber.

HK has 1000s of magazines barrels & parts too so I doubt the USPs will be removed any time soon. The USP models were one of the first polymer frame guns to offer modular components. This was a huge selling point for Heckler and Koch.

I've heard for the last four years that they are discontinued, but I keep seeing new ones in stores.

I think HK would love to see the USP go away but it won't happen any time soon! The USP line is way too popular- there would be rioting!:D IMOHO the USP45 Tactical is irreplaceable.

The USP is a mainstay of the H&K lineup - it isn't going anywhere. The P2000 is probably more endangered than the USP, not that I think it's going to disappear any time soon either.

As for promotions, there's this one: https://www.lipseys.com/consumerpromotions.aspx?post=HKUSAStreamlightConsumerPromotion . Unfortunately for me, even though I've acquired two H&Ks this summer, the VP9 isn't eligible and my USP40 was used. Oh well.
