After three months of waiting, I finally picked up my Gemtech Blackside suppressor, making my USP Compact Tactical complete. I've had the pistol since the beginning of September when I bought it. My Form 4 finally came back on Monday, and I picked up the suppressor that day. I'm jazzed. My first NFA item.

With tax stamp, just under $2k. Spendy, but I'm pretty happy with it anyway.

and pics...I want to see lots of pics!
Since CA is a big no-no state, I have to live out most of my firearms fantasies here...nice project there! ;)

Was there some sort of "good cause" to own a suppressor?

To quote my Form 4 "For investment and collecting."

You don't need a reason to own one, or a gun.

Anyways good looking, I have the full size with that can. A little disappointed by the sound reduction, and you may find that it might not cycle the compact.

Oh make sure that your Blackside mount is Loctited on. Mine wasn't, caused me grief to no end, until I finally got red loctite (the blue loctite that I use for other stuff didn't work) and did it myself.

Anyways I am thinking about picking up the Tactical Compact version of the new Hk45.

Yeah, you do. The sights on there now don't rise over the suppressor. But, they are almost even with the top of it, so I expect that for all practical purposes they'll do fine.

When I chose this pistol they had a whole selection of suppressed Glocks, Sigs and HKs. The full-sized USP and a couple of the Glock's had high-rise sights.

Before anyone asks, I chose the HK over the available Sig because the Sig was a P226 (9mm). In fact, all but the USPs were 9mm. I wanted .45. Then I chose the compact over the full-size because the full-sized USP feels big and clunky to me.

That is truely a beautiful pic of your CT + suppressor! I like your decision to go with the .45ACP for a suppressed pistol. It makes good sense.
