On utube, there's a video of a young gal shooting a hog with a .40 pistol a whole bunch of times at a fairish distance. They made a bit too much noise or something so the pig had just roused itself from its slumber/wallow a half second before the first shot.. the hog finally was killed but it was pretty painful to watch.
