The grips control recoil like no other but now the sear pin on the Para LDA 7 walks out because they do not cover the pin like the factory grips did. How can I stop the pin from walking out under recoil ? Will I damage the frame if I knock a flat spot on the pin then drive it in place ? Would lock tight or something like it work ?

Thanks,Keith

Replace the sear pin with an oversize version.
The sear pin through hole is drilled too large or the current sear pin is too small in diameter to retain itself with a friction fit and it should do so with the internals under spring tension from the sear spring.

The grips on a 1911 are not designed to do anything but cover the lightening holes in the frame.
A correctly assembled 1911 should function with no grip panels in place and nothing falling off the gun.

Would that also be true of the Para LDA745 ? I also have a real 1911 and the pin does seem to be tighter,

Thanks,Keith

kid,
Sure sounds like the pin has been installed from the wrong side.
The flange should be on the left side on both sear and hammer pins.
They are retained by the thumb safety.

The pins heads are on the left side but it is not a true 1911 so the sear pin is just below the thumb safety. If there is such a thing as an over sized sear pin for a LDA then that is what I need. I will have to check and see if it is the same size as a real 1911. If it is where can I get an over sized sear pin at ?

Thanks,Keith
