Anyone else experience this past weekend with the family as being in the midsts of antis?

I know I did....Stepsister is a huge PETA(pieceofcrap) and very anti. Not to mention the entire stepfamily seeminly is very liberal it felt. I ended up just walking out the front door once dad and the stepfamily got into it over various things..... Oh well. Was funny to think about how they were very anti on handguns....yet dad had his in his back pocket the entire time. Which reminds me.....i gota get my permit(stupid laws trying to take away my rights)....

Anyone not looking forward to Christmas(or other form/religious) holiday?

My first wife's sisters were very liberal, one especially...

I couldn't stand her unless her husband made me couple 2 or 3 vodka martinis (I guess he was so good at making them because he couldn't stand hi own wife either LOL)

One time she announced to the entire family that because of her job, a six figure job with a maijor Manhattan Bank was going to california to meet with Mikial Gorbechov.

She proceeded to pronounce that Gorby was one of the greatest humans to ever live, as he opened russia and US relations up... I asked her out of disgust how important she thought he truly was...she said at least as importand as Ghandi or JESUS CHRIST!!!!

Stunned, the only comeback I had was..."What, you mean old winestain head?"

She stormed out of the room, and didn't talk to me for almost a year! LOL!

Another time she wanted to rent a movie, but it was benath such an important person as herself to tour the "Quaint" as she put it movie rental store.

I asked what kind of movie she wanted, or who her favorite actors were if they didn't have the title she wanted.
She replied she liked Patrick Swazie or Charlie Sheen.....so guess what movie I came back to my inlaws with......You guessed it...RED DAWN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

All the family was antigun and anti hunting, and they didn't approve of my pro-second Amendment activism.

One long standing general rule in my life has been to never eat with stupid people.

I prefer to enjoy my meals with either, friends, inteligent strangers or alone.

So far no ulcers.

Nope.
Family made a decison to go their own way some time back. My mom is the 'only ' family 'I communicate with. She knows and supports my CCW, and RKBA efforts. She too sent monies to "Innocents Betrayed". Mom went out of town, which was best. She knew I wouldn't show up anyway...she doesn't like it, but respects , understands and supports my reasoning.

So being as I spent too many years in a business and became cyncial with the commercializtion of holidays, I don't do them. I "observe" in my own way in private. I made exceptions at one time when I had a wife and stepson, that's history.

So being by my lonesome -I fend for myself. I wanted to stay home and order a pizza. Instead I was invited ( yelled at , begged , pleaded and threatened) to go shooting -LOL ( oh yeah that arm twisting took about 2 seconds). :p

I have had a run of serious fun, burning up ammo, includes shooting at night. Some training stuff, some prep for the Redneck Cup [ just send the prizes to HSMITH and I...we've got this thing in the bag] and cussing Correia whilst shooting pump SGs on damp cold ground doing the prone dealie [ kidding Correia...I learnt from it]

Oh being as I don't have a motorcyle license as required, by my state ...I "borrowed" a Harley Spotster [ whatever...its the classic look...looks like a motorcyle ] and well had fun. Umm, IWB holster works fine, but I figured out what the hubba about with CCW , throttle, clutch ...etc. was all about. Learnt something else and why you bikers fuss.

Oh I pigged out, great when your a single fella and someone elses mom remembers your addiction to homemade fried apple pies...wanna see my "poor puppy dog look?". Used with the " I sure do like the way you make them pies Mrs..so and so". ;)

Came home ( finally) with 2 dozen fried apple pies, dirty guns, brass, dirty clothes, oh there is some ham and other healthy stuff...did I mention the pies?.

I'm getting the joneses for a 45-70...in case anyone comes for my pies. :D

Nope, didn't see and I don't do anti's.

pssst...it's the ones with the fork marks on the edges in case anyone wants me try their recipe...hint, hint...I'm down to eight pies...getting the joneses already...< puppy dog smiie here>

Holiday with the Anti’s?

Nope, sorry.

Started out Thursday, with a cousin showing pictures of the NFA toys waiting at his dealer for his paperwork to clear.

The next day, I helped my Dad pick out a Colt Gov’t Model 1911, suitable for my Mom to shoot.

The day after that, we all went to the range. I helped Mom through some double tap drills. (She shoots better than Dad, now.)

Next year, the other side of the tree comes over. I think, that will be a different story.

But, you never mentioned if they sat down and watched it with you, did they?

Christmas should be interesting at my in-laws. My wife bought me a rifle and I plan on taking it over there boxed and wrapped and opening it while my sister-in-law and her husband are here.

Not sure if my SIL or BIL are anti are not but we're about to find out. I do know my SIL has liberal leanings. Mostly they have been cool about everything else.

Not really an anti. Just someone that is completely ignorant to anything about guns and why we need them. this would be my sister inlaw. so i have lots of fun with her. she doesn't understand why you would even need the gun loaded in the house or ever want to carry it in public for that matter.

i cut her a deal that if she goes shooting with me, that i will go shopping with her:banghead: that could be a very big mistake.

One reason i dont mind going to my grandmother's for the holidays. While she doesnt strike me as pro-gun, she inst an anti. My uncle and I used to shoot out there, and every holiday I wind up talking guns with the other uncle I dont really get along with.

He's been in the Army for 20 years, so guns are common ground, along with harleys.

People that talk religon or politics at family holiday gatherings just weren't raised properly.

My family is as far from Anti as you can get. My mom has an 18 inch bayonet sitting on the back of the couch as a decoration, because "its cool looking". Thank god my family is normal :D

My parents know we both carry, and have no issues, even though Pop is 85 and can't shoot his Smith Model 10 anymore - he still has it next to the bed! Sis in-law is moderately anti- we don't chat......at all.....:banghead:

had a great time at my wifie's grand parents house for thanksgiving. we had a good talk about bolt action, lever action, semi-auto, and full auto, to end it with a show-n-tell (no full autos :( ) had a great time. now my grandparents mybe a different story. will have to watch how I let people hug me!!:D ;)

Took my dad out to do some Wobble trap and 5 Stand. Not bad for a guy who never taught me how to shoot and didn't like guns. Since last Thanksgiving, the first time I took him, we have been 5 times. He is now looking to get his own shotgun and wants an O/U.:D

I may be spending Christmas at my sister's house. Her husband still laments the fact that Clinton is no longer President. For my sister's sake I'll discuss nothing but football with him.

When my dad was around, he loved to yank my brother-in-law's chain by saying something strongly pro-gun or anti-liberal.:D Great fun to watch.

At least my other brother-in-law is a shooter.

Spent some time on Thankgiving shooting with my Father in law.22's in the back yard......and my step son.....is was awesome.....no anti's in the family...at least those that will admit it:cool:

Dang Bowlcut, I feel for ya,

I went back home to visit parental units for turkey day... brought the GF and her two sons. Spent most of Thursday and Friday in the basement with Dad and the boys at Dad's workbench as he fooled around with other peoples guns (he's a gunsmith), talked guns and shooting, hunting yarns and whatnot.

The big sister and little sister were away with their families, so there were exactly zero anti-gun types around for me and Dad to pester (darn... its so much fun). :D

The GF's oldest boy asked my Dad, "How many guns do you own?" To which my Dad said, "Billy, I quit counting at 150, so close to 180 is as good a guess as any."

After we got back home the oldest boy came to me and asked about becoming a gunsmith and wanted to know when we could go shooting again. So now we're on a quest to find out which is the best school for gunsmithing.

Life is good.

Adios
