I would like to purchase a video that demonstrates proper defense techniques with a revolver. Has anybody viewed Clint Smith's Thunder Ranch "Defensive Revolver" video? I imagine it is well done, but does it have information applicable to a home defense situation? I am also open to book suggestions but have already read quite a few books on the subject and am interested in seeing it done. There seem to be so many choices out there, and I don't have time to watch/read them all.

Thank you,

If it's really home defense you are interested in, think about these options as well.

The NRA has a network of certified trainers all over the country, and chances are there is one near you. These trainers teach a variety of basic firearms classes, but the one most relevant here is called Personal Protection In The Home (PPITH). To look for a trainer/class near you, go to http://www.nrahq.org/education/train...ictraining.asp .

If there isn't a class near you, or at a convenient time for you, the class presentation has been released on DVD. See http://materials.nrahq.org/go/produc...tid=ES 26840 to order it if you want. The text used in the class can be ordered at http://www.nrastore.com/nra/Product....uctid=PB+01781 . I have reviewed the current editions of both, and they are quite useful- though the live class is a better option for those who can manage it.

There are other similar products available as well. One of them is Louis Awerbuck's Safe At Home video- see http://www.paladin-press.com/product/129/73 .

Yes, I saw the PPITH class earlier this week; however, there isn't a class where I live or within a few hours drive. I had no idea it was released as a DVD. That may be a good option for me.

Thank you very much.
