Just want to let you guys know about Hornady' customer service. I had a problem with my Hornady die and bend the expander rod, call customer service and told them what happen. They mailing me a replacement rod with pins at no charge. They also reminded me to mail in the warranty card which I did forget to do when bought the dies this past spring. That's customer services. :)

I have found over the years that the reloading tool manufactures 98% go by the old way of doing business when dealing with customers..!!!

It's not done the way most companies do these days.
I have dealt with most of them for something or other related to customer service. I must plug Snap-On here also, they have been great too. Cost more but great CS like Dillon.

Wish I could afford more of both.....:)

You can't go wrong with Hornady, RCBS, or Dillon.
Yes, you can, if you are trying to find parts for your Hornady Pro 7 press.

I "inherited" one, minus a few pieces. Called Hornady, and they told me that they no longer support that press, and had no parts.

They told me to "just" buy a new Hornady press.

I told them we were done, sold the press for parts and went back to Dillon.

Huh when I called them about parts for my Pro 7 they offered to sell me one too. Only they said that if I send my old one to to them, they will sell me the new one at Half price.

I have herd stories of great customer service from them all, and I have herd horror stories about all of them.

I think it boils down to how you talk to them when you contact them.

Have called Hornady a couple of times for help and have been disappointed in there attitude. RCBS on the other hand was great about helping. Next press will be green or blue, not red.

They have the best customer service i've ever dealt with....actually to good IMHO. I had a part break on my LnL, which was entirely my fault from using to much force. I told their customer service and started to give me CC #, but they refused to take any payment. Instead they told me they appreciated the honesty and sent replacement parts for free.

Hmmmm...You may be right, looks like there are posts on both sides?? :uhoh:

Myself, I usually start off by asking to buy parts if its a current available part that I broke or unknown problem, then tell them the SHORT story. They usually say something like " We just need your mailing address,we will cover it under warranty" .

If I THINK it's a warranty issue, I will be polite and ask them if this should be under warranty? They will usually give some answer, sometimes they say hang on, then come back and say we CAN cover that.

I never try to get anything for free, unless I FEEL it's a warranty issue.
Even then, if it's a small ticket item I just pull the plastic out.

I have only been let down from ONE reloading tool manufacturer.
And it wasn't Lee..!!! :D

Not long after I acquired a Hornady LnL AP, I realized that I had to use way too much force to screw in the quick-change bushings for the dies - as in I needed to use a pair of channellocks to get them in and out. I called Hornady to inquire if I was doing something wrong as the directions didn't say anything about needing pliers to get them in and out. I explained everything, including the use of the pliers and the light rim damage to one particularly troublesome bushing. The rep listened patiently to my whole long-winded story/question and then said "No you're doing it right. We'll send you some replacements - how many do you need?" He waited patiently while I tested all ten I had to see which ones fit well and which didn't, and ended up shipping me six no questions asked.

I'm sure one's experience varies depending on who get on the phone in any organization, but my singular experience with Hornady so far was more than I ever expected.

Haven't had to use them much but when I did they were great. Shipped a new part out to me free of charge. Very good folks to deal with.
