Hotter than a bandit's pistol ...

100 degrees is just an ordinary summer day here. I was at the range at 5:10 this morning. I did what I wanted to do and was on my way home at 8:10. It was 81 degrees then but we got some thin clouds after noon and it cooled from 98 to 94. I plan on being there about the same time tomorrow. Go early, leave when it gets hot.

8:30 pm and the temp is down to 93. Did some arranging on the reloading bench, but didn’t make the range today.

Storms seem to split and pass by this area making it hot and muggy, started out for a walk earlier and came back inside.

I spent the last week of every month, excluding November and December, in California on business, for five years in the 90’s. The vast majority of it in southern California, from Ventura down to Coronado. Met two of my closest friends there. I love visiting, but don’t want to live there.

Take a cooler with ice and blueice.
Take drinks and a couple of sandwiches.
You're already taking a bunch of stuff anyways. Whats one more bit of kit.

Took the 7 mauser rolling block to form cases, the 243, trapdoor and a couple of 22s.
Out here in Arizona, I swear sometimes you shoot your guns to cool em off when left out in the sun.

Got home and took a nap. The heat still takes its toll when sitting in the shade.

Its 830 at the moment and its just dropped to 101° outside. When I left the range range the thermometer read 108°.

I’ll be at my Colorado river trailer at Needles, Ca. all next week. Gonna be balmy...

116,112,112,110,114,116,116... Lowest low temp all week will be 78.

Stay safe.

We may not hit 120degrees in the summer, but spending winter at -20 makes summer HOT!

No place has all four season so fiercely as Michigan.
The icy death grip of winter.
Spring can’t tell if it’s supposed to be flowered land or blooming sea.
Summer is alive, like fire.
And Fall in the Northern Forest is unequaled anywhere.

If you can get out to shoot here, you can make it anywhere!
Though, admittedly, we do have more perfect days of shooting weather here. Lucky? Blessed? Divine design?
Yup!:)

Several projects I need to complete in the garage. Heat makes it difficult even with fans. Fumes and noise prevent me from doing them on my bride's dining room table.

Northern Illinois doesn't know what climate it wants to be. We get very few days that you would want to open the windows, frozen wasteland or surface of the sun. last year with the "polar vortex" , the temperature hit -20° but 0° isn't unusual. Well get 100°+ in the summer with high humidity . but like @Demi-human , fall here is great.
Been hot here, 90°'s and muggy, I'll shoot indoors in July & August unless I'm going on a trip and can shoot along the way or at my destination . it didn't used to bother me but I work in the heat all week, I like to cool off on the weekends.
I will probably go to the outdoor range in the next week or two, just because I've got some longer range testing to do.

Hot and humid here in the Ozarks.

Bought a PD trade in Glock 21 last month and finally got all the components to turn it into a 10mm.
My G20 mags just came in. Thought about shooting it this afternoon till I walked outside and got hit by that humidity.

I skipped shooting this vacation week - WAY too hot on the uncovered private range I am allowed to use. I need to get an umbrella! Did some casting one day, holy cowski I about broiled...and only got 100 good bullets.
I HAVE to go soon to sight in a new red dot...I am not looking forward to the experience, but it must be done, the show must go on.

Well, the heat broke with the rain. Only 82 today.

It is once again perfect in Michigan, discounting what lives in Lansing.

The kids are hitting Paradise North with Grandma and Papa tomorrow and I’m heading out with them today to shoot some rimfires before they go.
Then I’ll have Monday evening to myself. Large bore pistol night!:)

Then back to work on the rifles.

It’s hot. Don’t kill yourself, but get out. Don’t be comfortable. Bring water. Get an easy up-sun tent-thing, a chair and a table.
The car has AC. You don’t have to spend all day shooting.

I have spent a range trip sitting in the truck avoiding the biting flies, stepping out to shoot and then getting back in the AC.

It totally beats TV...:D
