Houston gun show this weekend at Reliant. Jan 17 and 18

What are your thoughts on the show? I noticed there weren't quite as many dealers as normal....and some of the regulars were not there..... But what amazed me the most was the wide range of prices for the same gun from the major dealers. There were some dealers who are obviously price gouging. There were some dealers such as Military Gun Sales out of Fort Worth who were not. I bought a Saiga 12 from them before the election and they were still selling them for the same price this weekend even though most dealers had gone up substantially.

Plenty of EBR's and accessories were available..... Rock River, Stag, DPMS etc.... and of course the Colt's.... I came home with a LE6721.......... I have wanted the LE6920 for quite a while but went with the 6721 because of the heavy barrel and the 1 in 9 twist rate. I figured I will never need a grenade launcher so the indentation on the le6920 barrel where the grenade launcher mounts was not necessary for me.

Selection of ammo seemed to be down also.... may be it was because of the people I saw carrying out several cases at a time....

I'll be back at the next big show in May.

Some people really are going overboard on the ammo hoarding.

A local guy went down the pike to a show out of state, and on his way back the rear suspension of his truck blew out on a state highway. Cops got him out of the ditch with two flats, broken springs, etc. Ammunition everywhere. Cases and cases. No official inquiry, as he did nothing illegal. But a lot of eyebrows were raised. I saw pictures. Really something.

After the very first local show right after the election, I stopped going. Same old s**t, different shows.
Btw, I see nothing wrong with "hoarding" stuff, as long as you can get your hands on them.

SHOT show was the reason why some of the dealers weren't there.

I went with my father in law and friend and didn't see too many great deals...

the ammo situation is getting kinda stupid...as well as the magazine issues. lol

here lately I have been just going to look around at the old rifles and talk to some of the older folks to hear stories.
