After buying my 642 and GP100, I'm looking to get an SP101 2-1/4" bbl (preferably spurless) for carry. Yeah Semi's are cool and such, but I just love the simplicity, rugedness, and elegance of revolvers. I'm not one that needs to carry dozens of rounds to go to the grocery store to get milk and bread. I really don't see it feasable to carry a 101 in an IWB holster, so I'm leaning towards an OWB rig for carry. I guess this queastions applies to all that carry a 5 shot .357. What is your primary mode of carry to include brand/model of holster?

Thanks, Robert.

I use an IWB holster too. The High Noon holsters Hidden Alley. It doesn't have a liner to hold it open, but it's black and allows you to tuck in your shirt to hide the weapon, which will be nice during the summer time when wearing a jacket is a bit too uncomfortable. I am also going to pick up thier Down Under as well for the hold open feature and I think I'd like a little more forward cant as well.

I've used a SP101 as my carry piece for years now and have carried it in a Mitch Rosen "Workman" for all but a few months of that time. tried a few other holsters but this one just fit me and made carrying the little gun almost un-noticeable. It does cost a bit more than some others of the same design (Mitch made 'em first) but after all - you get what you pay for!

OWB 4 o'clock in this Jim Burke belt slide, high ride ... sadly since his demise last year - looks like I shan't be able to get another. Hopefully this will last a while yet. Plenty of sweat stains tho!

I used to carry a wide variety of small wheelguns (and semi's) with this:

A trick I picked up in the army. There are many advantages; Low cost, light weight, IWB concealability is good, not obvious as a holster with the gun not in it. The main drawback is lack of trigger cover, and reholstering.
Practicing the Four Commandments takes care of the first one, and reholstering is a bit harder, a two hand job, but I'm not going to cuff anyone, either.
It takes a little futzing to get the knots where you want them, but it is adjustable just by loosening them and sliding them where you need them.
:)
There should be another 2 knots on the outside of each of the two middle ones; I just whipped this one up for an example to show my son.

I carry my 3†SP in a Smartcarry holster. I have CT laser grips on it and recently had the hammer bobbed.

Currently carry mine OWB, 4:00 in a Galco Concealment Belt Holster. Keeps it snug against the body, with a nice rearward muzzle cant and easy grip access. This is very comfortable and is working nicely for me now but will need to switch to IWB for summer so I'm trying to decide on a new holster myself.

I use the Milt Spark's PMK holster. Rides a bit lower and tight-in on the waist. Very good holster.

Sorry, unable to post a pic (bobbed 3†Sp101) at this time due to tech difficulties. Will try to post at a later time. However it came out very nice. The Smith did a beautiful job polishing it up. I never practiced with it in single action and had a few hang ups when drawing. I’ve been mulling it around for awhile and decided to have it done. He was also very impressed with the CT grips. He never saw them before but after checking them out on my SP said he was going to look into them.

Lou Allessi.

The only way to carry a small brick comfortably all day long. Pricey at $100, but worth every penny and then some.

I bought my 2.25" SP101 used and it came with a black leather Kirkpatrick 4100. At first I was not sure I was going to like this holster, because my other holsters completely cover the barrel. However, only about half an inch of the barrel shows. It carries tight to my body and is very secure on the belt. Good concealment under a jacket and almost feels like it's not there.

The weight doesn't bother me...

I carry the DAO in a Mika pocket holster. In winter, in my heavy coat pocket with no holster giving the option of being ready to fire without drawing a weapon and "brandishing", although I sure would hate to ruin that coat...But sometimes you have to do what your have to do.
When driving, I have a concealed holster set-up in my truck that is easy to get to by the driver but not easy to see or access by anyone else.
