How Did I Miss This??? T/C R22

Looks like a cool little rifle. I wonder what the street price will be, because all those features at just over $300 wouldn’t be bad. I really like that they put peep sights on it... and metal feed lips on the mag... and a 10 rnd rotary mag... and a rail... and a nice looking poly stock... and a fiber optic front sight. I think I’m talking myself into a new semi-auto 22LR. But the Tikka T1x...

Well it isn’t vaporware, Bud’s has it in stock for $342.

Comparing it to the standard 10/22 threaded barrel at around $230, Magpul X-22 stock at $130, extended bolt handle, better trigger, sights, last shot hold-open, integrated rail, probably better quality barrel...

Again, they’re known as plinkers but it really would be nice to unbox a 10/22 that doesn’t need any tweaking in a decent stock.

I wish I could just buy the receiver with the fire control group in it. I don't want the stock. I don't want the barrel with the fiber optic sight on it. Just want the receiver with the last round hold open and put it in a walnut 10-22 deluxe stock, and a good barrel on it.

Will the Thompson mag fit in a 10/22 and give me last round hold open? It says it can take Ruger mags but they won't hold the bolt open.

Did you see Brownells is selling a barreled or stripped house brand 10/22 receiver?

Might wanna see how they end up shooting T/C's been turning out some good barrels of late.
I agree about dumping the stock tho. Nice thing about it being an aftermarket stock is it will sell for more than the 20 bucks standard 10/22 stocks to for.

Neat and all but I think ruger has their bases pretty well covered . Unless the tc comes with a match grade barrel I dont see much of a benefit. Especially if ruger mags dont fit.

From quick reading looks like the gun will take Ruger mags.
Honestly, I'd prefer to get one sans stock, but I much prefer everything else about this rifle to the 10/22.

I've been considering buying another 597, as those have been my favorite semi .22s to date, but this gun may quickly jump to the top of the list, if it shoots well.

how come my beard gets caught in my tactical stock? well, its a tactical face grip hold..... just kidding, neat little rifle. I may go look at one if it takes the ruger 22 mags all the better..

Wouldn't mind getting one as a sort of compatible companion to my Ruger 10/22, especially if they can use the same mags. Be nice to have another decent .22 for the grandkids to use when we go shooting.

Ironically look at the ad that was showing under your post. Now that's a tactical beard. He's even doing the tactical stare

Trying to match him is futile, even with his lowly Kel Tec! All I have is my beautiful...er...flowing...um...manly hair. Stay thirsty my friend!

Take that Kel Tec Thor! I hate him! I hate him! He makes me look girlish! [Cries in porridge while dreaming of thicker beard.]

I am honestly more excited about the Tikka T1x. I believe the TC will work with Ruger mags, but bolt lock won't be activated on the last round. That means TC only magazines if you want to use this feature. I can't really see the aftermarket supporting this feature (Bolt hold open) much unless the rifle really takes off. I think if I wanted another 10/22, I would either buy a new Ruger 10/22 or search the pawn shops for one on the cheap and build it up the way I wanted it. Ruger seems to have the 10/22 down at this point, so I don't really see the point of jumping ship. Last round hold open is a novel concept, but not enough to make me switch manufacturers.

I agree it’s not a small sum in terms of rimfires that can otherwise be purchased, and that Ruger is riding a high tide lately, but for the segment that’s looking for “different” in their 10/22, this fits the bill.

I own 4 Rugers at present and 3 T/Cs. The latter (in my experience) are noticeably more accurate with better OEM triggers to boot. I was actually finishing work on a 10/22 trigger last night when I spotted the T/C R22 ad.
