How important is the powder choice?

I've been testing some 9mm loads with 115 and 124 grain bullets. I've been using a fast powder and a slower powder (specifically AA2 and AA5) to try to get the most accurate load for my pistol. I also tried some AA7, but was not happy with the increased felt recoil, so I eliminated it quickly. I picked the AA powders initially because they meter like water. My question is should I look at other brands of powder also for better accuracy, or am I spinning my wheels with other powder brands in the same burn range?

Those will both do well in 9MM. I used AA #5 exclusively in 9MM for years. There are several powders that shoot well in 9MM. Is there one combo out there that will shoot better than all the rest in your gun with your bullet choice? Sure, but better enough to matter?

You could try HS-6, AA #5, Universal, WSF, Unique, N330, N340, True Blue, Silhouette, etc, and one will probably shoot a little better in your gun, but they will all shoot pretty well. The bullet will make a bigger difference IMHO.
