I've gotten more than 6000rnds of 9mm in a .30cal ammo can. I'm guessing at .38spl. I know that a one gallon bag will hold ~1000 .38spls. It being more flexible than the bucket. Still, I've got to go with 4468
Weigh the bucket with the brass, dump the brass into another bucket and weigh the bucket, subtact that from the total. The weight in pounds times 103 for commercial brass or times 92 for military .38 brass will get you very very close!
Interesting. I have a 5 gallon bucket that is probably 95% full of .40S&W brass, and I keep wondering how many are in there as well so I can plan a bullet/powder/primer purchase for it. heh. I'm thinking maybe 4500 or so.
All right dag-nabbit! You posted, We guessed. We don't expect any prizes except braggin rights.
So how many cases are in the bucket?
-Steve
**BigSlick, That count on the 9mm was empty cases. And you've got to shake the ammo can a-lot when you get to 5,500 then you can rattle another 500 in.
