Well, I have only six and that is two more than I need because I could combine three into one. That would be 7.62x.39, 30-06, and 30-30 could be dumped in favor of a .308 in carbine and full size rifle form. For now though, those three calibers in addition to the .22, .45, and 12 gauge serve me very well.

My short list would then eventually be:

.22
.45
12 gauge
.308

I am however in the process of evaluating whether to go from the .45 to the .357/.38 for a bit more versatility.

I made a decision awhile back that it was inevitable that in my lifetime there would be either multiple 'small' events or one grand event that would necessitate my having to get out of Dodge in a hurry.

By limiting not only calibers but also number of guns (in one place...) I can do that without hesitation or leaving behind my heritage for either looters or over-zealous 'government officials' to enjoy.

Once I came to the realization that this isn't my father's or grandfather's America things suddenly became very clear to me.

With NO offense toward anyone, I am no longer a collector of things that will only slow me down or tie up the few resources I do have while I am blessed enough to be able to stay put.
If I can't do it with the calibers listed no additional calibers will make one bit of difference in the long run anyway.

I only have 15 in 18 total guns but then again I am only 17 so one for every year plus one to grow on and I don't own any air guns.

All Mine, I'm a gun nut. Cars rust diamonds loose there shine but a guns forever.

I tend to duplicate guns I like. I have:

.22 LR (6 rifles and 5 handguns)
.22 Mag
.22 Hornet
6.5x55
7mm Rem Mag
.30-30
.30-06 (5 rifles)
.303
.35 Brown-Whelen
.38 Special
.357 Mag (2 revolvers)
.45 ACP (3 automatics)
.45 Colt (3 revolvers)
12 gauge

.22 lr
.32 acp
9mm makarov
.45 acp

410 ga
12 ga

30-06

I have a m1895 nagant that I lumped into the .32 acp, since that is what I primarily shoot out of it. I suppose that also shoots the nagant round, .32 short, .32 long, and .32 magnum.

I've went out of my way to keep the number of calibers low, since keeping a zombie stockpile for each is expensive. However, it is becoming difficult to resist the low cost 9x19 Sig p225/p6 and 7.62x25 tt-33s. I'll try to stay strong.

70 posts & one picture? Seriously, I like seeing cartridges compared especially since I haven't shot most of them. I should start an ammo picture thread.
