How Many Guns do You Own?

What I cant understand is the folks that put an inventory of their guns online for the general public to see. Also in the handloading realm, folks will brag about having 20,000 of this primer and 10,000 of this primer. I dont get it. You will never know what my weaponry consist of. Not because I am ashamed or doing wrong, but because that is just personal to me. Lets just say, I got enough!!!

Depends on who's asking and the reason they're asking. It's not wise to disclose that sort of information (...for MANY reasons).

My dad was a Navy Man, I tried to follow in his footsteps but all I got for it was a tragic boating accident where I lost all of my firearms and ammo, even the guns I haven't bought yet!

I own 30+ and shoot them all. They ain't wives. Seriously if you shoot a lot of competition you will aquire a few. Bullseye, high power, vintage, rimfire, "Sniper", practical pistol, 3 gun, et cet. I have some that are fun to shoot like a Remington rolling block and a 1871/84 Mauser. If you collect vintage rifles you can quickly end up with several dozens. Do you need a whole bunch? Nah........, but last I checked this is the US. My buddy owns dozens of fishing combos. To each his own.

I only own two firearms: both for CCW/self defense. The first one is for "primary," and the second is my BUG -- "back up gun" -- just in case. I am of the firm opinion, however, that a self defense handgun's caliber should always begin with a "four". I also believe very strongly in carrying a BUG.

You know, if you acquire 2 guns a year from the time you're 8 until you're 58 you end up with a bunch. And that's at a rate of just 2 a year and not counting gifts and inheritances.

A few years ago I met a man with 1200 shotguns in his collection.
