For those of you who practice handgun monthly, how many rounds do you shoot a month. What kind of shooting do you do: IDPA/IPSC, Bullseye, Plinking?

I really try to maintain 50 rounds a week through my carry gun. I tend to draw from concealed and shoot controlled pairs at 3 yards, 7 yards, 10 yards, and 15 yards. I try and shoot my .357 blackhawk some and my single six or heritage .22 as well. Sometimes time just won't allow it. I start having problems with grip and accuracy switching from a semi-auto to a revolver. Anymore I shoot way way more semi-auto and when I switch to a revolver I tend to shoot high and right. I don't think it has much to do with trigger pull more to do with grip angle and hand position.

I just started shooting IDPA last month. Before that I was getting 100 rounds of .45ACP, 50 rounds of 9mm, and 300 rounds of .22 cal a month. Now I am shooting 300 rounds of 9mm, 50 rounds of .45ACP, and .22 cal about 150 rounds. If I don't have to work 6 days a week for the rest of the summer I hope to increase those numbers.

I shoot steel plates, great fun, but hard on the ammo budget. Depending on the weather usually 1200-2000 rounds of centerfire pistol a month and about equal of rimfire with the rimfire being higher when the centerfire is lower and vice-versa, so probably 2500-3000 a month average for the past few years, significantly more in our not summer season when my wife comes along -- too hot for her to stand around outside in the heat now.

Mostly reloads or surplus 7.62x25, I've two Dillon XL560 one setup for 9mm, the other .45ACP and I keep them pretty busy. For a while back when Academy had CCI alumnium Blazer 9mm for $3.86/50 and Wolf .45ACP was $110-120/1000 I stopped reloading -- these were my good old days :)

I'd say about 300 9mm and 200 .45ACP with some 38/357 and 380 thrown in here and there. I also shoot a .22 pistol, but didn't count that because .22 is primarily a rifle round.

Generally around 1k ish a month, sometimes more, sometimes less. IDPA, USPSA, and a practice session once a week prior to the match.

Budget constraints have strangled my ammo budget though.......:cuss:

I have a range. I reload. I shoot about 5 days a week.
I don't keep track of how many rounds I shoot. I'd say a rough guess would be an average of over 500 a month.

got my ccp this summer, and a sp 101 to go with it. I've been shooting 100/wk or so trying to get a load dialed in.
My first snubbie....the darned thing is difficult to keep in the black.

If I am going to the range:
100 rounds of .22 LR, followed by 50 rounds of centerfire. I try to go once a week.

Since I started shooting matches (only about four so far) about 100 rounds of centerfire. About every other week.

Ideallly, I can go to the range on "off" weeks.
Realistically, since I started shooting matches, going to the range is, ahhh...somewhat less appealing than it was before. :)

I go to the range at least once a week and shoot min. 100 rnds of 44 mag per visit. Since I handload, the loads vary from mild to wild :D

I usually shoot out in the pasture here in Texas. When its cooler I try to do 200 rounds of 9mm and 50 rounds of .45 a week. When it is as hot as it has been, not so much.

Used to shoot somewhere around 500 to 600 rounds per month.

Most of my shooting consisted of defensive drills of one kind or another, working from the holster, with a cover garment. One handed. Two handed. Reload drills. Malfunction clearances. Basic movement. Single target. Multiple targets. I usually included marksmanship shooting, too, just to see how far I could reliably dot the i (bullseye, that is), and to work on shooting basics.

Ranges were mostly 25 yards or less, with the bulk of shooting taking place at 15 yards or less, the bulk of that shooting at 7 yards or less.

Several hundred rounds a month as long as the wallet approves. Also shoot a few hundred rounds of .22

It varies widely depending on the weather. When it's cool and dry, I easily burn through 1000 rounds per month. Now that it's hot and muggy, I have to force myself myself to shoot 50 rounds per week. I don't shoot competitively, just in my backyard range.

I'd like to shoot around 400 rounds of centerfire stuff a month. Just bought a new gun so I have to ease up a bit...

I used to shoot 500-750 but nowadays I only shoot about 200 rds of .22 and 100 of centerfire combined .38,.357,9mm,and .45.

300 rounds of .45 a week, sometimes more on special occasions or right after a new batch of components comes in.

50-100 rounds of .44 Mag a week.

Sometimes 100 or so .380 a week.

During the school year, 100-500 .22 per week.

I go to range about 3 to 4 times a month and usually run around 100 rounds of 9mm or 45 through my 3 carry weapons (alternating carry based on weather and clothes). Also I would say around a 525 box of 22lrs per month. Would like to run alot more ammo through my carry weapons but with prices these days and being a student my funds are at an all time low.

It was about 500 per month when I could shoot behind my garage. Now that I'm in the city, and the range I use is 1.5 hours away, it's next to nothing. About 2-300 per outing, but I on;y go every other month or so. All in all, I don't shoot nearly enough.

300-500.....but I roll my own.
Mostly 9mm, 357 Mag & 10mm. If I didn't reload I would probably be around 100 rds a month.

Ehh..I selected 800-1000, but I was only thinking of my USPSA gun. If you factor in the rest of the guns, well over 1k.
