For all ya'll who're devotees to IPSC/IDPA-type shooting--

do you regularly shoot bullseye targets for practice, and if so, why/how do you think it helps your 'combat shooting'?

Out of every ~1000 rounds, I probably shoot 975 at torso and steel plate targets; at most, I'll shoot mebbe 25 at a bullseye (distance is 15-25yd), and that's only because I'm teaching newbies. Should I practice more at the bullseye line?

For pistol, I practice on 1" square dots at 7 or 10 yards. Same deal for precision rifle at 100 yards. I find it helps discipline to keep every shot on the dot with no fliers.
