I sometimes carry up to 3 guns at a time. There are times I think this is too many. Other times I think, oh there's room for one more.

1. At what point does carrying a certain number guns become a liability more than an asset?

2. How many do you carry at once?

Thanks

Ever see "I'm Gonna Get You Sucka?"

I have never carried more than 3 at a time for any reason on my person. Just too much stuff.

(doh!) Forgot about Josie Wales... ok maybe once.. on a dare.

Probably when you can't remember where you put the extra mags for which gun. :)

I consider any more than 10 too many.

If you can move with two shoulder holsters, two hip holsters, two ankle holsters, two pocket holsters and two small of the back holsters, then by all means, go for it. :D

I only carry one. If I can't stop the threat with one gun, and 2 mags, I feel more guns will not help me.

The most I have ever carried is 3
1 primary a .45
1 .38 snub on my ankle or a Beretta 950 .25 in my front shirt pocket
1 .38 3" snub in a shoulder holster
Mostly just for the fun of it

At work I usually only carry 2 one on my ankle (I drive all day) and one in the truck that can be slipped into my pocket

Put it this way - you know you're carrying too many guns when you try to reload your primary weapon with another gun that you just drew instead of the spare magazine! :D

more than 10 guns? LOL

Now what about carrying with an option to save a drowning person? You don't want your guns to weigh you down. (one vote for 'plastic' guns):neener:

Where is Runt of the litter when you need her. That little lady could pack enough hardware for you, me , herself and a few friends.

Quite a few cops I know carry their primary, the backup on the vest or ankle, and a P32 or P3AT stashed somewhere else as a backup to the backup. And one deputy I knew, aside from the 12ga and AR-15 with ACOG, had his belt gun, his backup on the ankle, a P32 in a vest holster and an NAA microrevolver somewhere else.....

Plus a .357 4" "Car gun".

Considering the nearest backup was at least forty miles away and he patrolled some seriously wide open spaces (where close range is 500 yards, unless it's between cars), I don't exactly blame him. And he was far from the only deputy in that department doing that.

I'm reminded of that line from "The Long Kiss Goodnight", it went something like: "I always have at least three guns on me, one here, one here, and one right next to Mr. Happy..."

Well if your whoopee preparation reminds you of the scene in "Police Academy" where Tackleberry and the female Instructor (Kim Catrall) were taking off all their 'hardware' in bed....you're probably carrying too much!:D

I carried one M16A1 or M60, plus anywhere from one to 7 pistols in the field in the Army, not to be well armed, but because the officers often got sick of carrying them, and I was the Armorer, so guess who got stuck with them! But I made my own .38 blanks for the M10's, it always scared the he** out people when I'd fire a pistol at them, because there weren't supposed to be any blanks for them!:D

Besides an obvious weight problem, I woudlnt forsee a problem in packing:

Full Size Goverment Model/Full size Glock - Shoulder holster
Whatever your preferred sidearm is - OWB somewhere on your body, preferably strong side hip with magazine carriers opposite side hip.
Snubbie/Compact whatver - ankle or just under the kidneys.

I feel sooooo naked with only my primary and backup, no matter how much I train. Someday I'll follow the advise of Dr. Hollywood. How else can I beat the bad guy?

LOL! My wife is worried that you guys are gonna turn me into "Tackleberry" from Police Academy already without me laughing at this thread and her reading it over my shoulder!

For a bunch of knuckle dragging neanderthals we sure can laugh cant we?

:neener: :p :p :neener:

Just don't fall in the creek! :D

I agree with CGT: One gun, more than one mag. Then again, I don't use 'em in my day job, either. (Much as I've been tempted: "Damned NT Servers -- take that!")

For the serious end of this: I carry three occasionally, two 90% of the time, but always one.

Just for the do 'ya think 'ya could end of it: My original CCW instructor calmly unloaded over a dozen guns, throughout the course of the class. When he started the class, no one had a clue. Very good visual lesson there.

I did have a guy show up to work wearing his Matrix black leather trenchcoat, with the following hardware - Glocks on each leg in thigh holsters, a Witness 45 one hip, Bersa 380 on the other, Smith model 10 shoulder rig, and the other shoulder was holding an AK pre ban folder with 75 round drum and 37mm flare launcher. I am NOT kidding. The boss made him leave most of the hardware in the vault that day....:D
