How many times has your Glock (any model) failed?

I haven't had very good luck with Glocks.

I had a Glock 36 that didn't just fail, it fell apart in my hand. First time out with it, brand new, shooting new factory ammo. The recoil spring assembly broke apart while firing, which locked up the gun. The broken recoil spring assembly parts were hanging out the front of the frame. The on-site gunsmith at the range worked with it and eventually got it apart. The plastic inside the frame was damaged pretty badly and interfered with cycling when I installed a new recoil spring assembly. I sold it to someone who knew of its problems.

I also had a Glock 26 which began having consistent FTE problems after about 500 rounds.

I hate to say it, but you should've bought a Glock.

(oh, wait...)

I've never owned one but shot a friends G 17 , and it jammed 3 times in 50 rounds . It had been shot alot in the past . But personally i wasnt thrilled to see it jam like that . But maybe it was due to an old magazine .

My early G17 is exceptionally prone to "limp wrist syndrome" . . . just about any time I let a woman shoot it, it jams unless I warn her to hold it FIRMLY.

My G26, on the other hand, can be fired with an unlocked "girly man" wrist position and a thumb-and-forefinger hold, and have no malfunctions.

Why not return it to the factory? That's the kind of thing the support department is there for.

My model 19 has about 10,000 rounds through it and has failed to feed/fire/extract exactly zero times. Also have a model 26 with about 1,000 rounds with the same lack of failures. The model 19 has a 'recalled' frame too - guess I should get with Glock on that - for some reason I'm not all that worried about it...

Shooting my 19 with some IDPA guys one night, I’m not a member of their group but you could shoot with them for $10. After the “beep” I drew, aimed and then “click”. Did a tap, rack “click” a few more times until the guy with the timer stopped me and sent me to one of the regulars to see what was wrong.
He found a piece of lint that kept it from going completely into “battery?”. I had a magazine in my front shirt pocket and it picked up one of those compressed multiple-washing “lint slivers” you know what I mean.
I had mixed emotions about that. I was disappointed that a piece of fuzz took me out, but was glad it didn’t fire and blow something up. Before that time and since, I have shot probably 3000 or so rounds total without fail.

Exactly One, possibly shooter caused.

During an IDPA Classifier, I had a magazine base come off after speed reloading my G17, and my magazine spring, magazine follower, and about seven rounds of ammo went "bombs away".

After over 50,000 rounds through various Glocks in all calibers, that is the only one.

Just my .02,
LeonCarr

I would have done that, but it turned out that the interested buyer was a convenient solution that worked out well for both of us.

I have a Glock 22 that frequently fails to fire when fed Wolf ammo. Light firing pin strikes. I have a Glock 26 that is 100% reliable.

My G21: none caused by the gun, about 750 rounds, mostly Wolf
My buddy's G19: none caused by the gun, about 1000 rounds, all Wolf

I have had failures caused by improper loading of the mag (not seating cartridge all the way back, can be tough with .45), bad ammo (a bad lot of Silver Bear, about one in ten not loaded hot enough to cycle, which is sad because my G21 will cycle even CCI .45 shotshells), but I would not call those failures of the Glock. My friend experienced a jam with the very first shot out of the gun, right out of the box, which I wouldn't call a failure of the gun (even if it is a Glock) because its supposed to be cleaned and lubed before firing for the first time.

Regarding Wolf, I think it is great stuff. For every person who says they couldn't get it to run reliably with a hundred rounds or something, there's someone who shoots 1000-5000 per year in multiple guns with no problems.
