I am 19 years old.

I am growing up in a generation that is taught that anything that is dangerous is a bad thing and that people everywhere are out to hurt them, and that they have to be sheltered from the world to be safe.:barf:

I try to swim upstream from this crap. My parents have taught me to see the world for what it is, and nothing more. I have been around firearms all my life. Growing up there were two loaded long guns in my house, a M1 carbine and a Model 12. My mom hated them but relied on them when she was frightened.

I respect and fear guns. Treat them as if they are loaded and never play around with them. The only thing I can do is help teach my friends and people around me that guns aren't dangerous unless you are careless with them. (2 negligent misfires last month here alone.)

My father has given me his old Colt Trooper and the families 39-A. I have bought a shotgun and carbine.

I love the discipline and recreation of firearms. The discipline of long range target shooting and the recreation of a .22

It's something that all young men/women should experience. We need to have better education of firearms. Too many people don't know anything about firearms.

So, anyway enough philosophy.

My question for all you younger (under 21) shooters. What do you carry and posses?

I carry what I am allowed to carry by law.
A flashlight and a knife. (Olight M20 and a Zero Tolerance 0200)

These are my long guns. (Mossberg 535, Marlin Golden 39-A, CAI WASR-10)

Btw, thanks for this site and all of the things I am learning from it!:D

I've always wondered the same thing myself. I'm a "younger" shooter, but I'd never thought to ask about it. Just turned 21 on the 21st so replying is kind of cheating but hey.

But on to the good stuff.

1. 2nd Gen Glock 17
2. 3rd Gen Glock 23
3. Sub-Compact S&W MP
4. A CETME Sporter .308
5. A folding stock WASR-10/63
6. A .50 cal Muzzle Loader (Navy Arms Country Boy?) (Bought it when I turned 18, and never fired it LOL.)
7. Bushmaster XM-15
8. And even though it's not mine, an FN Five-Seven (Grandfathers)

But I'm in the market right now for an HK45, or maybe my own Five Seven, lol. I've been looking at the Stoeger Cougars, and the FNP's as well.

Just like you, I've learned a lot from lurking this site too.

Glad to see some younger shooters on here. I started when I was 18 and living near Los Angeles, and just about everyone was afraid of them.

Nice collection. How does you WASR shoot? I have one very similar and have been pleased with it.

Unfortunately you cant here. You cant even handle them in a gun store like gander without a permit. Luckily there are still local store that understand.

I'm 20. I entered into the firearm world alone (none of my family are shooters) at the age of 18 when I bought a used 12 guage Mossberg 500 w/ 28" barrel. I put a ton of ammo through that, killed some small game, and had fun with friends blowing stuff up. I started to get serious about firearms. I learned how to clean the shotgun very thoroughly. I started self-educating myself on firearms mostly through this discussion board.

Since then, each year around Christmas I have treated myself to a firearm. I wish I could afford more than 1 gun a year, but for now I'm happy with what I have.

So far:

Mossberg 500 12g
DPMS AP4 Carbine 5.56
Marlin 336 35 Rem (Inherited when my grandfather passed)
Sig P239 9mm

I'm excited to finally turn 21 and be able to carry the Sig I got this Christmas. It shoots great too :)

Im 18, and have had to purchase all of my firearms by myself. I just started getting serious about shooting this year. None of my family shoots, but i have a very good family friend that takes me shooting and teaches me the fundamentals. Hes in his 70s and is an ex-marine. I love shooting .22, and Im saving for a nicer hunting rifle, hopefully from this century.. lol
1. Mosin Nagant, first gun, I plan on keeping it
2. Marlin Mod 60, Second gun because It was too expensive to piss through rounds with the mosin
3. Marlin Mod 925 with a 4x32 scope. My favorite to date

I had a 1938 Turk mauser, but there was nothing practical about me having it at this point in my life

28 (so I'm not sure that qualifies as young in your book. 8)) here.

I own a slew of handguns, a shotgun and a .22 lever action.

im 24 so i'm starting to get out the "young" category.

i was raised around guns and was taught at a young age to handle them appropriately.

Pistols:
Springfield loaded ultra compact 1911 .45 acp (CCW)
Para Ordnance GI expert 1911 .45 acp
Beretta a390 12 gauge
remington 700 VTR .308
remington model 597 .22
Chinese norinco SKS

hopefully i'll add some others to the list over the years.

Well, I'm a 22 yr old female and I have my CCW permit. I got it 2 summers ago. I still only have one handgun that I carry and it's a 38spl. However, my fiance' has lots of different guns. I think he has about 20 different handguns and probably around 12 other guns including shotguns, rifles and some I have no clue what they are. He has a huge safe where he keeps his guns that is full to the max, and he has another safe that he keeps all the ammo in that is also full to the max. I can only imagine how much fun it will be to move those safes when we move out!

Thinking about getting a WASR or a Del-ton AR kit next, can't decide which though. :/

I'm 21 and I've been shooting firearms since I was 17. I would have started at 5 if I had had the chance :p But my parents didn't have guns (not against them, just didn't own any) and gun ownership in general is not as widespread in my county as it is in America.

I currently own:

Glock 17 (waiting on my suppressor for that one)
Glock 19
H&K P2000sk
FN FAL Para (from Argentina)
DlaskArms 14.5" AR15 + suppressor
Mossberg 500 12gauge
S&W 19-4
S&W 17-2
CZ VZ-58

I am (gulp) middle aged (41) BUT.... I play a big role in my 11 and 14 year old daughters who both shoot (And one loves to hunt....)

I am 23, a recent college grad, and own the following:
1 - Beretta M9
2 - S&W 4" Model 65-3
3 - S&W 22A

I would like to buy more but cannot until I get a 'real' job.
