How would you handle this forced entry?

"If you enter my dwelling, despite my warning that you will get shot if you do, you get what you deserve."
If you have to change what I say to make your point, you don't have a point.

The law doesn't require me to endanger myself in my own home in order to protect you from the consequences of your criminal acts.

You don't have to like that and I don't care whether you do.

Just keep it in mind if you decide to become a home invader, sober, drunk or on drugs.

You live in a fools paradise, buddy. Talk all you want. Once it is over, you will be seconded guessed from here to Sunday.
So, do you still think that shooting to wound is a good idea?

Did you ever ask a lawyer about that?

I never said anything about shooting to wound. You never listen! You never will.

Apparently, you don't read what you post yourself:

Final thought, Deanimator is clearly passionate about his position. What he says concerns me. But, I respect him for speaking his mind. I also want to give him the benefit of the doubt, because I didn’t see where he said that when he would shoot an intruder that it necessarily followed that he would shoot to kill.

I would shoot neither to wound nor to kill, but to STOP. All of the most efficacious ways of doing that have a substantial risk of death.

You really ought to give that lawyer some thought... as well as reading your own posts.

You are like Don Quixote, tilting at windmills. There are people who have posted on this string who have lived your fantasy. Read their posts and think about what they are saying. There is wisdom there! Benefit from it.

You are like Don Quixote, tilting at windmills.
Your position is that people should be able to shift the danger of their irresponsible and or criminal behaviors onto their victims.

Here's your answer: NO

I'm sure that what you propose is popular in Brooklyn, New York.

It won't fly in Brooklyn, Ohio.

You have every right to put yourself forward as an OSHA for home invaders.

Everybody else has the right to not be a victim of your "clients".

I don't even try to make sense of what you say anymore. Re-read what others have said on this string. They have articulately expressed themselves. They have good advice, listen to it.

Your rhetorical Kung Fu is weak. And attempting to portray me as a potential home invader is absolutely laughable. I'm not even an apologist for drunken home invaders. Being drunk and banging on people's doors in the middle of the night is a crime called 'disturbing the peace,' a misdemeanor for which the law is amply equipped to deal in a non-lethal manner. Your neighbor drunkenly breaking down your door, mistakenly believing it to be his own, likewise the law can deal with. The consequence for the drunk being some jail time. The law is even well equipped to deal with angry little men with an axe to grind on the Internet who fantasize about how coldly they would put down whatever came through their door, should they act on that Hollywood fantasy.

I'm not even really talking to you anymore here, Deanimator. It's your funeral, pal. I'm just trying to counter, for other people who are reading this forum, what amounts to extremely reckless advice that makes the entire gun community look bad. As a law abiding citizen, I will say that your attitude is entirely counter to civilized society.

I hate to support the rights of people like you to own firearms, but until a psych evaluation reveals you to be the sociopath you so clearly are, I have no choice. Which is incredibly galling, but that's the price of liberty, I guess.
