I would like to try one on rabbits here, double barrels with open hammers have always given me a woody. I would go with the rifled 50 cal option. But that's just me.
 
In my experience with the SxS 20 gauge the shot pattern is too wide for hunting beyond about 10 yards. However, with 40 to 60 grains of black powder and a .61 cal round ball punching large holes in lumber is great fun!

There’s a fellow who will jug choke muzzleloading shotguns 20 ga and up. Wish he worked on 28 ga as well as I want to have a barrel or two made up for my Lyman rifle.

It came with the absolute worst trigger I have ever experienced. Had to have been 30-40 lbs.
I have worked on the locks extensively and now they are at about 12 lbs.
