I've dealt with my share believe me. I've also dealt with my share of large aggressive dogs. Still bear the scars on my left arm to prove it. Luckily it wasn't my face.

Still, a 15-20 lb fox isn't going to kill you. It's gonna hurt when you get bit. The rabies shots will suck. Your wife will still be alive and unwounded by your gun.

You shoot, I'll grab and stab. We'll all be happy with our choices hopefully.

I disagree.

In fact, this should be a reminder for all women who complain that their husbands never listen to be careful what you wish for.

Then I would recommend neglecting the rabies treatment and allowing lockjaw to set in.

DH and I discussed this.

We both agreed that a .22 hole or two in an extremity beat having a rabid animal:

A. Chewing through muscles, tendons, and nerves,

B. Letting go and attacking one of the kids.

Here in rural Iowa, an untagged dog is a free target, (No raibbies tag). A tagged dog that hassels you or a domestic animal, free target. A rabid fox? you better have a hunting liscense, even if it bit you.
