I can not make up my mind. I like the sig 226/229 and hk usp/uspc. They both feel good in my hand. I wish I could buy them both. Any help would be nice

I just went through this last week! lol. It was between a Sig P229 .40, or a HK USPc .40.

Went with the HK and so very glad I did! I like the lighter weight and manual safety/decocker so I can carry cocked & locked in SA...or I can go DA..or DA w/ safety on. It just felt more balanced and better in my hand than the Sig did, although the Sig feels just about as good, but in a different way. I just thought that the HK felt more well-built and solid in my hand, which is ironic since it's a plastic gun vs. an all-metal gun like the Sig.

I plan on buying a Sig someday anyways...both are amazing guns. You will probably do the same and buy both eventually. Just go handle both and go with your gut instinct. I went with mine and I'm glad I did.

I own both and like both alot, but for me, Sig will barely edge out H&K if I'm forced to choose between them.

Got 'em both-prefer the features on the USPc (Variant 1/40 S&W), but most often carry the SIG (P229R/357 SIG) as it has a Lasermax installed. Last time I checked, no Lasermax offered for the USPc, and I kinda doubt they're ever going to offer one?

Iff'n that makes a difference to ya...

Agree with postings so far. I own a P226ST and P2000 V3, both in 9mm. I can't speak highly enough of either of them.

Overall, I'd pick the Sig, but don't make me.

If it's for range use, I'd go Sig.
If for carry, I'd go HK.

Sig.

Both are excellent guns that are used by top tier agencies in daily life and death scenarios.

There's simply no data to suggest one is more reliable than the other than the fact that the Sig has passed the most difficult military trials very well and has since been even further refined.

I'd pick the Sig... and a CZ!

Both Sig and H&K put out some fine products. I'm most familiar with the .45's, but their products are fairly similar across the calibers. I can shoot them both with about the same degree of accuracy, although it took more rounds to master the USP than the P220. The trigger on most Sigs will have very little take-up, and is easy to master. The USP's trigger is longer and heavier in DA, and has more take-up in SA, but once you learn to stage the trigger a bit, you won't have any problems. Most people that fuss about the USP's trigger either don't know how to stage the trigger or are used to shooting 1911's. The Sig is a little more comfy for carry. It's smaller, and the decocker and slide release don't stick out like on the USP, although some would say that this fact is as much a liability as an asset. If you're a lefty it doesn't really matter. I liked the USP for its versatility. It has to be one of the most versatile handguns on the market. It can be suited to match just about anyone's preference, and I like C&L, which V1 does nicely. The H&K has more capacity, albeit in a bigger package.
Toss a coin, you're a winner either way IMO.

Wow, I went through this something like 5 years ago...betweek Sig 228 and HK USPc. I ended up choosing the Sig, and it's been great. Later, I traded a large stack of paintball gear for a lightly used USPc in 9mm and have used it a LOT since then. It's been my choice for classes, carry for trips, etc. It just ended up feeling better, more compact, and more convenient for some reason.

Neither has ever given me any problems, and I don't regret owning them, but that's my experience and impressions.

I have both, and if I had to part with one, I would let the USP go. The superior ergonomics of the Sig (for me) makes it a better overall shooter.

Both are reliable and accurate beyond the average service pistol.

I have both a USPc and a Sig P225 for about 1k OTD. Both are AWSOME pistols, the Sig is more accurate, but requries more work out of you. The USPc has more capacity, is lighter and handles recoil easier. Anyways good luck with your choice. I bought BOTH, it would be a hard decision in any form.

I own both.

They are both excellant pistols. Simply very hard to determine which is better. I usually take one or the othre depending on my mood.

Now that siad, I think you should buy the one which is well within you budget, as I do not know the price where you live. I say this because you seem to like both of them, and they are both VERY well made pistols. This only means you will end up buying both soon or later. Thus, get the one in you budget, and save up for the next one. I assume Sig would be cheaper than HK.

If I had to sell one of mine, I would not be able to make up my mind quite easily.

The only other thing that comes to mind is that I know HK makes very good handguns, which many time tend to be better than previous, but SIG P226 stands alone even after many models made afterwards by the company.

Both are great guns and which ever one you choose will not let you down.

I have a P229 .40S&W and had a USP Compact .40S&W.
I ended up keeping the Sig and selling the Hk because IMHO, the Sigs trigger was much better and the Sigs' balance felt better to me.

One other advantage of choosing the Sig is that you can change the grips to fit your hand.

Good luck - you won't be disapointed in either one.

I think HK makes a great product, BUT they treat the civilian market like a bastard child. Sig is a much more common man friendly company and also puts out a product that is superior to most any other manufacturer out there.

Go Sig.
