Picked up my new 1911 yesterday and took it to the range. It's a Springfield Armory Loaded MC Operator model.

Put 150rds of Blazer Brass through it. I must say, I now understand the what all the 1911 guys have been saying all along. The trigger on this thing is like butter. The gun points perfectly and is literally 10 times more accurate than I am. It's SOOOO easy to shoot also.. I though my P220R was a laser, but this thing is like "HOLY CRAP" accurate. Totally pleased with my purchased. The gun shop convinced to get a little light for it, so I got that too.
The only issue I had was the gun jammed twice when trying to chamber a round by disengaging the slide stop. Dont know if this is an issue or not.. Im trying to get away from using the slide stop anyway. My buddy is a San Diego Sherrif Deputy and he always yells at me and says I should be working the slide when reloading. I guess they train them to rack the slide when loading, reloading, clearing, etc.
EDIT: This might sound corny, but can anyone give any advice on "double taps" or whatever. I watch this video here http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Wbg2s2bfjhw and I cannot get two shots on target that fast. Cant do it with the 1911 or P220.. it's like the recoil is too great and it takes me a .5 a second to get back on target. I can kinda do it with my XD-9, but not the .45s. Maybe I just need more practice..
Anyway, obligatory pics .. Gun is a little dirty because I took pictures after the range.
Each target here has about 25-30 rounds on it:
7 yards
10 yards:
20yds
