Because it's very photogenic, and has a nicely placed hammer that cocks nicely for "dramatic scenes" - there's a youtube video where characters cock the hammer on a Beretta or pump a shotgun with every change of view - and it is reliable with blanks.Technically I don't have one, but if I did it would be because of "Training Day" Ethan Hawke used one.
I've always wondered though why it is the go to gun of action flicks? Or maybe that is my imagination.
