Calling out all Beretta 92 owners, I'd like to know why you bought a Beretta 92. I think this will be a fun poll. :D

Reliability and Capacity - I got a beretta 92fs, with a Mec-Gar 20rd Mag. 20+1 rounds of 125gr. JHP+P Corbon self defense.

and not a striker fire.

Oops, one of the poll options should say: United Stated armed forces uses it. My mistake.

I bought one because it is used by the US military. I think it is alright but excessively big for only 15 rds.

Nice pistol but nothing special. I like my 92FS but I prefer my 1911.

...and it's nothing against Beretta. I have an old .22 70S that I absolutely love.

Because the US armed forces use it...

I bought mine to prep for going to Iraqistan - since it's one of the weapons that could save my life overseas, figured I might as well be handy with it. The 92FS wasn't a natural fit for me; it took a lot of rounds, draws, and dry fires to feel proficient with the pistol. During cooler months it's my primary carry. Year round it's a pistol well-suited for teaching new shooters - lots to grip, relatively low felt recoil, and appearance is classy rather than mean or intimidating. I'm a bigger fan of the VerTec for it's slimmer grip and the light rail - IMO, the perfect night stand gun.

Because it was there.

But then I had buyers remorse because it felt like a brick in my hand compared to my Hi-Power and I was afraid the ghost of John Browning would come pay me a visit...............so I traded it for a S&W 629

Bought my first, a 92s, from my AF shop chief in 1985 because he gave me a great deal on it as he had orders overseas.

I still have that one along with 5 other Beretta pistols, 5 Beretta shotguns, and a CX4. All of my Beretta's have been great, never had a single problem with any of them.

I like Beretta products -- have several pistols & shotguns -- good stuff! I got my Italian 92's new in 1992 -- fit, finish, asthetics, accuracy, reliability

Bruce Willis Baby! Bruce Willis. I often refer to my 92fs among friends as my "Bruce Willis Special" :D

I was going to buy a 92FS as well but since I managed to get a G19 for a LOT cheaper and went with that instead. I don't doubt they are a good pistol but a glock for over $200 cheaper than retail BNIB was hard to beat lol.

I decided on mine because after shooting a LOT of semi autos in various calibers, I found that the 92FS suits me perfectly.I had a XD 40 tactical before this and while it was a great gun I just didnt like the way it felt in my hand. The Beretta works for me perfectly. I like the fit finish and the overall quality of it. Also I dont think you can go wrong with a company that has been in busness for centuries. I added a nice set of Crimson trace grips (waterproof ones with the on off switch and the actuator switch located on the front of the grip rather than on the side)and Im good to go!

I have a Beretta 96FS .40cal, and absolutely love it. I had a friend that owned one years ago, and he used to let me shoot it alot. It had the overmolded Houge grips and felt like an extension of my.......hand! I could shoot awesome groups with it, and knew that I had to have one of my own. I recently picked mine up, and put the grips on it, and it's everything I remember it being.

I've also owned the 92, and loved it as well. They are great pistols, and Ill never sell my 96.

I bought my first stainless 92FS because I thought it was a very nice looking pistol, because reviews I read indicated that it was accurate, extremely reliable and because I knew parts (including mags) would be plentiful and cheap for a long, long time due to the M9's adoption by the military.

I bought a Beretta 92 because it is a classic, reliable, and darn good looking design. That and it fits my hands very well, and I can shoot it all day long. It is also nice to own the very pistol that is currently in service with the United States Armed Forces, and Die Hard is a great action flick!

I bought a 92 because it had a solid record of reliability . Everyone i knew who had one never had an issue . And the other reason is imo it's one of the best looking designs .

Bought a 92 for the Looks, reliability and capacity.
Sold it months later. Did not enjoy target shooting with it and a bit too big.

It was my first pistol so I wanted something reliable, accurate, easy to maintain and with readily avail parts and that was a 9mm. At the time I didn't want a polymer so the 92 was the best choice - still have it, still love it - it's such a great pistol to shoot. To me it is as iconic as the 1911, the fact that the military uses it and most of the military guys I had talked to loved it was a plus, and, well I have to admit that being a huge lethal weapon fan - it was by far not the main reason but it helped seal the deal!
