I called to buy one rifle and somehow it snowballed. Um, buyers remorse? Can't be

Yesterday I was all excited. I'm was about to call AIM with my first C&R FFL purchase. Oh it was a great feeling. Then, I made the rookie mistake. I started reading posts on the High Road about the Enfield 2As that they just started selling. Ok, it's not that expensive I think, but no, I'm just going to buy the CZ-52. That's it I tell myself.

I get on the phone with this great lady who starts taking my order for the CZ-52. As she finishes up that order she ask me if I would like anything else.

Ok, this is where things went drastically wrong. My mind was set to say no and then somehow it snapped. Before I know it I'm also ordering the Enfield. Well, now that I have the Enfield I'll need ammo for both firearms, so add them to the list etc etc. Before it was all said and done I spent over $500. :what: How the hell did that happen?

Oh this C&R thing is evil. I need to lock away the credit card for the next month so that evil thing will not get any more of my money. I may need help, maybe an intervention.

Did I mention how I can't wait until they show up on my doorstep. Bad Rockrivr1, bad bad!!!!:scrutiny:

That's how they get you.

As soon as that question pops up you start thinking of all those ads for cheap ammo... and the accessories, you must have all the accessories.:uhoh:

That's why I NEVER speak to a live person and just order on the net. It doesn't ask "Anything else?" :)

side note: How come I'm seeing posts to stuff that isn't even in the thread and also quotes of stuff that isn't in the thread

O.K. Here's a pat on the back. I just don't know if I should have a big grim on my face or a long sad expression. that would your choice :D
Mark.

That doesn't work either because then you look at the shipping charge and start searching around the website to find all those little things you need also just to add to the order "since you are paying for the shipping anyway".

You didn't get a Swiss k-31, Mosin-Nagant, or Mauser. You need to get back on the phone with AIM and get those too.

Don't forget to order lots of ammo also.

You will also need the accessories for the K-31.

After you get all that, you need to check out what S.O.G. is selling and buy some more. Then maybe you will have enough but I doubt it.

It's never enough and there's never enough money.

"As she finishes up that order she ask me if I would like anything else "

I use the joke reply, "Of course there is! Tons! I just can't affort it all."

this usually elicits a laugh and a 'yea I know what you mean" I say 'yup that's life!" and we finish up. Aside from giving a chuckle, having that line instantly at the ready both stops me from thinking too long on the specifics of the request, as well as reminds me of the truth that ya, I can't afford to buy all I want, or even close.

yeah, got a gunshow in town this weekend and while Im in NO position to be spending money on anything but covering bills at the moment I might be not responsible and get a K31 if I find one decent. The thread about it convinced I should.
This I guess could be my answer for the buying on a impulse thread also.I guess I could just not go to the show, stay home and relax but the devil on my shoulder is screaming louder than the angel on my other;)

Cruffling is like Lays tater chips sprinkled with crack.

I love my Swiss Miss K31. I just got the ST Marie Graphics clamp-on-the-receiver scope mount & mounted an ancient Redfield Low Profile scope. Must get to the range.

Eeeerrrrrrrr! El Barto your killing me here! I was ok, right up to your handgun section. That C&R piece of paper is speaking to me again in dark whispers. :uhoh:

Larry, thanks for the info on the "known troller" and deleting it. I was thinking the thread was going to turn ugly.

We must learn from our weaknesses. I am SO WEAK when I walk through the doors of the gun show, I admit it (and maybe revel in it a touch). Forgive me for I know what I do...
