I Enjoy Looking At My Guns More Than Shooting Them !!!

I've always enjoyed fondling my guns. I admire the ingenuity and craftsmanship of the product. It has nothing to do with age.

I understand, I often find myself staring at a new or modified gun for hours after i buy it or mod it. And well lets not even get started with pictures, tons of them of all my guns different light, angles, backdrops, etc. However i still love to shoot and clean every last one of them, except for my black powder pistole. Cleaning it is hell. With that I am only 30 so thats why i still shoot. im sure at 70+ i will not be shooting as much. Lastly guns for me are like an investment, better than cash for sure and in some cases better than gold, and can be passed down to my children when i have some of my own.

My gun cabinet in right next to my computer desk, I fondle mine regularly. Ummmm the guns that is..:uhoh:

hmm... well I cant say that I feel the same way, but I might if I owned a REC7 or a nice .50cal. Given that my most expensive firearm is a Remington 770, nothing I own is quite the lookers :/

For people who like mechanical items, high quality firearms are something to admire and cherish. They are like fine pieces of art. The craftsmanship that went into building them is worthy of admiration.

lot of gun owners enjoy just having guns in their possession. Not everyone shoots thousands of rounds. I'd say you pretty normal. appreciating mechanical devices for their ingenuity seems good to me. understanding how they work and how you can improve the process is a great mental exercise.

Yup, me too. I enjoy researching a new gun more than owning it. Although some of my collection I would never part with. My H&K P-30, my Sig P-238, my Kahr PM-9.
Come to think of it, I've never sold a gun. I like them all.

I have multiple friends who own guns, but only one who understands what I say when I say,"Wow, that's a pretty gun".

I have several handmade knives that I'd much rather fondle than use. They are just such works of art that I can't bring myself to use them. My guns? Not so much. I use em like the tools they are. Maybe I need to buy a handmade gun?

I'll go you one better. One of the big reasons I shoot is to empty brass so I can reload. I enjoy that more than the shooting sometimes.

To the original comment: Owning "old" collector weapons or what ever you happen to like, gives great satisfaction in knowing under your stewardship, pieces of gun history will be preserved. Fondle at will.........:)

No way on the replicas. I am a fondler of that beautiful solid steel and wood, but under the solidity is the knowledge that if asked, it will respond faithfully.

(Anybody guessing that I don't feel quite the same about my polymer guns?...which I admit I don't fondle near as often....)

I would love to shoot mine more often, but I need more money + I don't want to burn through the ammo I have as I don't have much left in a couple calibers.
