Well, I finally gave in and bought a CZ 40B that I've been fondling for about a week now.

While I was purchasing it an older gentleman approached me and started telling me about the CZ's that he owns, then the salesguy starts talking about how great they are for the money, then low and behold after doing a search here, it seems that a bunch of you are fans also.

Sheesh, I feel like I've joined some kind of cult!!

I must be under some kind of spell as I'm already thinking about buying another one to have a matched set. I've always wanted a matched set of autos and the price is right.

SOMEBODY STOP ME!!:what: :what: :what: ---Oneshot

Ya, my first CZ was a CZ 550 Laminate Varmit in .308, then I recently picked up a CZ-40B, next on the list is a CZ-75 SA in 9mm, then a CZ-97B, not sure where to go in the CZ family from there. Maybe a 2nd CZ-40B if they're still a good deal. I really like mine.

Welcome to the CZ Community!

The 40B and 75B are the least examples of CZ quality. Economical
and reliable. The CZ85 Combat and 97B are better in fit and finish..
as are the Race Guns.

Best thing is to own one or two of every model.

CZ Cult

Hi, Well after owning a couple of CZ's fine .22lr rimifre rifles I decided to get a CZ40b . Ordered it this morning from CDNN. Now if the snow stops so Spark's Sporting Goods can open for business and confirm the FFL for Me I'll be in great shape . Calling for ice all night tho ! At $259.98 to the FFL its worth the wait . ...................WVleo

Thanks for all the replies:D

I've already been checking out the other models available. I can't believe the price on them. Something tells me there's a couple more in my future.--Oneshot

hi,
Great respect to the CZs!
But they are not perfect.

The Deutsches Waffen-Journal 2/2004 wrote, that 8000 of the brand-new Czech Police-issued "CZ75D Compacts" were sent back to factory, because the aluminium frames are broke after very short usage.

Anyone (from Czech Republic?) more info on this?

I think that's a correct story. And CZ has made them good, and has since introduced the P-01, which is replacing the guns in question. It was given a much stronger frame, and profound stress testing. It seems to have fixed the problems, and then some.

(Even Beretta stumbles, as any number of US GI well tell you, when they relate their experience with broken slides and related injuries, a number of years back.)

Walt is correct. They switched for casted alloy frames to hammer forged frames. For better durability.

edited to add: I may be wrong though

Walt . . . . When did they switch??? I bought mine new January of last year. Who's affected and who's not?

Yeah, I want to know, too! I've been considering a PCR for a while now (prefer the looks and features to the P-01) and want to know if there is a link to some info on dates and/or serial numbers :uhoh: . TIA.

Can we get a secret handshake or something?:D

I personally love my 40B. IMHO I think it is as good as it gets for a Defensive Mid-Sized gun without even consdering how inexpensive it is.

Another $ bargain is the CZ-52 and a BLAST to shoot.

Still need to get a 75. Just doesn't feel right not having the quintessential CZ
