I don't look at it that way.
As you said, there are possibilities for further explanation, more questions, different perspectives and divergent points of view. None of them are shut out by someone agreeing with a prior post. But, if everyone followed what you want, anyone reading the site would get only the response in Post #3 standing alone amongst a field of different - sometimes contradictory ideas - and would thus appear to be a minority opinion. But, when a number of members of the community responding to the post agree that Post #3 is correct it reinforces its accuracy and persuasive authority.
