My very first actual in my own name purchase permit. (In MI, freedom is limited a long guns, handguns require a permit).
I got two permits today. One is earmarked for a Buckmark. Waiting for a PM back on that one. (Please, please, please pm me back....please...)
The other? I dunno. I have a 9mm. A S&W Model 59. It's fine. I'm bored though. Not even of the gun so much, but of the round. Not much recoil, that high snapping sound. I don't have anything bigger. I'm getting the .22. Don't need to get a carry gun yet since my CPL won't arrive for a while yet. I liked shooting a .40, and I like watching and listening to other people shoot .45's, although I've never had the pleasure
Can't spend a lot of money. Definitely under $400. Thinking of maybe a Blackhawk in .357mag. Possibly a used RIA 1911. I can get either one of those used without breaking the bank too much. Leaning more towards a revolver, mostly because of the cost of spare mags. This really is my "bonus" gun purchase, just for fun, and because I've been good and held off of all gun purchases since September because money was too tight.
And yet, this is gonna be my first handgun, that I own entirely--not "my husband's gun but I use it more". It should be special. Special and cheap: two seriously opposing interests. Hm.
Alternatively, I could just buy enough .22lr to last a lifetime and enough spare mags to last a range session, and just stick with the .22. But there's this extra permit sitting in my wallet...
