A while ago I got a 10 round magazine for my Ruger 44/77. It was hard to use due to both the pressure from the wood and because it was very hard to release.

I happened to have the day off, so I used a wood file and relieved a bit of the pressure on the side of the magazine. I also installed the extended magazine release. With these two changes, the extended magazine is a lot easier to use now.

Nice! The IQM mags are awesome, but need to be kinda fitted to the rifle. I have one to share duty between the 96/44 lever action and 99/44 Deerfield Carbine. It fits the 96/44 great but the Deerfield needs just a touch of relieving. I did not opt for the extended release. Though i have one on my 10/22s.

If i ever find a M77/44 for a good price ill snatch it up!
