I loaded my first rounds with CFE 223...

I hope I can find accurate loads for 5.56 and 6.5 Grendel with CFE because it meters SO WELL compared to all the other extruded rifle powders I use (H4350, IMR3031, RL-17, H4831SC).

Good luck. I have not been able to find any that beat my usual powders - Tac, RL15, 4895, etc.

Just working up a load now myself for 5.56. I got a pretty nice group at 100 yds with 24.1 gr of CFE and a 77 gr hpbt (seconds from powder valley).

I ordered a bunch of it earlier this year hoping find some good loads for it. I haven't been able to test it as much as I'd like but so far nothing spectacular in the one AR I've tried it in. I've found some loads that beat American Eagle 5.56 bulk ammo, but nothing near as accurate as ANY of my Varget .223 loads. Varget and Benchmark have produced MY best .223 loads. I wish ADI/Hodgdon would produced a short cut version of Varget.

I have had pretty good success with CFE223 in .30-06. Good accurate hunting loads, but nothing I would consider match grade. I'm not giving up on it yet for .223 but I probably won't be testing it further March or April.

CFE works great in my AR platform 5.56, single shot 223, bolt action 243, bolt and single shot 308.

I also like AR-COMP a lot in AR and 308.

24.6 of cfe 223 works well for me with a nosler 77 gr hpbt.
but TAC is better, more consistent velocity, slightly more accurate

This morning I tested with 27.0gr CFE 223 and Hornady 55gr FMJBTs in my 16" upper and I was seeing only 2730-2750 FPS. I was hoping for more velocity than that. I will perform an actual load test and see if I can get to a satisfactory velocity.
