Thanks...it's over half my age, or so I've been told from its former owner. It's a V10 Ultra Compact, has the same 3 dot sights as the "mil-spec" models of today, but came with a [bad] beavertail and extended safety.

FLGR--solution looking for a problem. I've found that the recoil spring doesn't "bind up" without one, so what's the point? Just more to go wrong as you have now seen. I also have a Springfield "Loaded" parkerized. I wanted a "tactical looking" pistol when I purchased it, but the more I carried the pistol (IWB) the less interested I became in all the trinkets and bobels that made it a "loaded" model. The first thing I did was change the Ambi to a single side safety. 2nd thing I did was replace the FLGR with traditional. OK, off my rant, you can find different varieties of FLGRs at www.brownells.com. Just type in "full length guide rod" and you'll surely find many varieties.

I'm not sure what your question is, but the answer is "GI Guide Rod".

One piece guide rod

Try Brownell's, they carry a variety, including STI, Ed Brown and EGW, just to mention a few.

Contrary to what some say you CAN rack an FLGR-equipped piece on a table. As for the proponents of the GI system, I think you can make the decision for yourself.
