I received my C & R license today but that's it.
Nothing about record keeping or anything else, I guess they send that later?
There is a gun show coming up in Concord, NH on April 12th.
Other than a signed copy of my C & R, what else do I need to transact a sale if I find a C & R firearm I want to buy?

Make copies BEFORE you sign it! Send signed copies to internet dealers,( if you do a search on this site, there is a list of these dealers). Start buying.. You should get your package a few days from now.

Well Ya, I kind of guess'd that part. I guess I asked for it though, Good one.

Make some copys of the c&r do not sign the licence they sent to you.
I also sent signed copies to dealers that deal with c&r weapons and when I want to order I just give them my name. There are a number of dealers on the internet . I also found a page for record keeping on the internet.
Also some places like Midway and brownells give a discount to c&r holders.
Just send them a copy of your c&r. I have found that it is just as easy to buy
going thru the ffl dealer at a gun show than using my C&R. Show your C&R and they may give you a discount.

I live in Maine so the only way for me to by a handgun in New Hampshire is to do it with a C&R eligable gun.

I'm wondering....why does everyone say to make copies before you sign it? I'm going through the process of applying for the C&R now, but, don't understand the benefit of making copies - prior to signing it...please explain...

When you send out a copy of your C&R, it must have an original signature....
Make a ton of copies, when you need to use one, just sign and go...

Because on the license it states original signature of licensee.

ok toured on the handgun. also search this site curio and relic dealers.

The advice to make copies before you sign it is partially correct.

Make copies but never sign the original. Otherwise, if you run out of copies and need to make more, you're out of luck.

Be sure to send a copy to Midway USA if you do any business with them. Midway gives their dealer discount to C&R holders. The discount has paid for my C&R several times over.

you need to buy a really, really big safe. And start saving for a second safe. Those toys breed fast.
