I Submit The Bhp Is The Ultimate All Around Handgun

After having experience with both the G17 and the BHP, OUT OF THE BOX, the G17 takes the cake easily against any other 9mm as the ultimate, last word 9mm, not because it has the best trigger, or the best accuracy or any "best thing" (except rust-proofness) but because it is truly solid on all fronts.

-The BHP can be worked up to be a true champ, peerless in fact, but the g17 is up to handling anything as is. If I had to run into a store to pick a semiauto to defend myself NOW, untested, unproven, it would definitely be a g17. If I had to equip a military the g17 beats the BHP on all fronts. Same with police forces.

Infidels! nay sayers, you have yet to beat the theorem....

For thou who worship at the foot of Glock.....do we have....Battle Proven in our resume?

Nay......

I love when folks play the "battle-proven" card as though this trumps all other considerations.:D

A Colt SAA is "Battle-proven", and so is a broom-handle mauser. I'm aware of the BHPs steller service record and long history, but in my humble opinion, I do believe the old warhorse OUT OF THE BOX doesn't match the simplicity, reliability, and ruggedness of the g17.

I'll give you this: until the g17 came along, the BHP most definetely held the position of "Ultimate ALL-AROUND" 9mm, but it's been trumped by others.

I'll also give you that, for the trigger system alone, no other considerations, I'd believe for casual target pratice that a newbie could do better with the hi-power cause of the SA trigger, even with some of the slop that new BHPs have cause of the mag. disconnect.

It is the "Ultimate Pride-of-Ownership" 9mm-though this is a pretty subjective thing. I do believe most folks that own one will have great pride and usually the BHP, and the 1911 hold the title of the safe king and queen of a collection of handguns. They truly are marvelous to look upon and handle.

Yeah, yeah, yeah....

-We got the picture: You have a complete, and shameless love affair with your lady, the BHP!:) -Congratulations!

-BTW, the Glock is purty street proven w/ cops and it has seen war: Many gang turf wars are fought with a side-held glock!

"I'm gonna cap yu in da hed, Foool!"

:D

Wherein many shots are fired and no one gets hit! proving the innacuracy of the platform! :0

WA,

You know what I'd like to see: a modern updated BHP, like a MarkIV or something:

-Some kind of high ride beavertail grip thing either as a part of the frame or like on a 1911.
-NO Mag disconnect!!!!
-decent trigger job
-Three lugs instead of two like on the .40 SW version
-One piece barrels: just for peace of mind.
-Some kind of finish as tough as or nealy as tough as the g17

All this outta of the factory piece at 700-800 pesos or so. I think it would sell like hot cakes and probably rival the 1911 as the " BEST UBER SWORD OF THUNDEROUS DEATHRAY-ING!!!!"

-Right now, one can get this if you're willing to put in some serious coin for a cylinder-and-slide job costing a gran.... No thanks

Ultimate BHP will not be found in a box.

Be at Peace,

G17

:D

Browning....battle tested and proven. Glock......?

Browning....no recalls of 400,000. Glock......?

Browning....no blow up's or ka-booms. Glock......?

Browning....steel, blued or chrome Glock......?

Browning....most widely used pistol around the world.

Browning....J.M.B. Nuff said!

BHP's are nice...very nice...but right out of the box, and for better ergonimics, I'd rather have a CZ 75. If you were to dump more money into it, a FN high-power is 'the bomb'. But a CZ still points better.

Then Sigs...then the glock!

This thread is no fun.

I can't get worked up for a good debate if I agree with you on all points. :D

Dearest Marshall,

Browning....time tested and proven.
Glock: been in police service for twenty years. Austrian and Norwegian Armies likey-like the glock, and even our own military, the marines in especial, are checking it out. Israeli super-duper cop/military dudes use it as well.

Browning....battle tested and proven.
Glock: see above

Browning....no recalls of 400,000.
Glock: now this is not too fair since the glock fields SIX different calibers and all the respective problems that come with re-engineering. The G17 still stands tall!

Browning....no blow up's or ka-booms.
Glock:See above

Browning....steel, blued or chrome
Glock: This is where the BHP really pulls ahead, in aestetics. No arguments here. BUT... in durability of finish it's a no-contest win for the G17.

Browning....most widely used pistol around the world.
Cricket.....cricket..... um, I can't think of anything for this, except to say that: I'M BETTER AND SMARTER THAN YOU, SO THERE!

Browning....J.M.B. Nuff said!
gLOCK: IF JMB had lived, the G17 would have been his baby! Who's to say that Gaston Glock isn't the second coming/reincarnation of the venerable JMB???;)

-BTW, did you read my other post??? What did you think of my uber-factory BHP?

-Waiting w/ bated breath...

Marshall and WildAlaska = Wrong, Wrong, WRONG!

Paco and G17 = Winner! Yeaaaah! I'm the best!!!

-God, we never left the schoolyard....:p

God Carries a 1911

Wildalaska started this thread with the unequivocal statement that the BHP was the ultimate handgun , not the ultimate 9MM . He didn't limit it to that , and he may be right , after all , God designed it . For the record , I know him , and he carries a 1911  !

TPDTOM,

God carries a Glock

G. od
G. lock

-Both start w/ G, so don't even try to argue with that!:neener:

Back on Topic:

-OUT OF THE BOX, I believe the Glock trumps
-If money is no thing, then a High-end 1911 carries the crown

...oh no.... where does that leave wittle, widdee, biddee BHP

Hee,hee...:neener:

ps, at least the BHP is some kind of beauty queen!

After having shot a CZ-75, I'd have to agree that a CZ-75, outta-da-box usurps the BHP as well. Not sure about the CZ's durability over the BHP though... CZ is a great pointer.

No comparison, the BHP kills the butt heavy CZ-75B. Better in the hand, natural pointing, more accurate and built better. Furthermore, you don't have all that DA/SA decocker crap. Yea, I know they make a SA but hell, nobody carries that one. And, now that I have an FN, it's better than both of them. :neener:

But, I'd take all of em over a Grock.

WildthevoicefromtheetherAlaska

We don't have to!!
Did not I just get through saying that God, Himself, carries a Glock???
We don't have to have any combat experience!!
God goes before us and slays our foes!! :neener:

On your knees, infidels!! :D

For my OWN personal civilian carry I am not a fan of "cocked and locked" so I will side with Paco on the Glock. It's cetainly NOT as pretty as a BHP
but for ALL round use I think the Glock ideal. However let there be no mistake: I think the BHP is a superb fighting hangun that deserves the highest of accolades.
