A couple of weeks ago I picked up a 5-1/2" Pietta New Army from Cabela's....

While perusing this forum, I found an 8" Pietta New Army in need of a home....So thanks to board member Legionnaire, I will be the proud owner of another New Army pistol.....It gets delivered on Tuesday!

Well then this morning (Which in addition to being Christmas day is also my Birthday!), my lovely bride gives me a note which says that my present will be delivered sometime during the first week of a January from Cabela's..............Another 5-1/2" Pietta New Army....:D!!!!

Pictures to follow as the pistols arrive.....

Merry Christmas and happy birthday,I am starting to like the looks of the Remington's.... yours is gorgeous, very nice wood grips.
I would say 3 guns in short order is the start of an addiction,I have been at this for less than 2 years and here are some of my guns (about half):

I am just adding a Remmy Carbine to the mix in the new year:

Load your own ,is a lot of fun 777 makes the power respectable, skinny, you are a colt lover i am myself, but of the 1873 camp,I see your making progress towards liking remies, but im sure you couldnt get a colt revolving rifle or you would have,I like the remmie longun cause you can convert it for deer season its two guns in one if you get the konverter, and spare cylinders are cheap 49.99 I LAST CHECKED,,,,,,,,,OH WELL MAYBE ILL GET ONE NEXT YEAR,,,,,,,:)

I want the Remmie carbine. I was watching the spaghetti westerns today and saw one in use.
Can't remember if it was The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly, A fist full of dollars, or For a few dollars more.

Congrats on your addiction.
I'm new to bp myself.
I also have a 1858 Rem. coming from cabelas.
Also a pair of 1861 Navys.

After a long and agonizing wait, the Big Brown Truck of Happiness & Joy finally showed up at 8:05PM last night bringing me the 8" Pietta New Army that I bought from forum member "Legionnaire".

The pistol and holster are "Brand New" in the box and came in the original Cabela's packaging. I couldn't be happier with the deal!

I think it makes a great companion to the 5-1/2" New Army that I picked up a couple of weeks ago....

Now get out and make some SMOKE with them ! ! ! ! :D

Shooting BP is definetly more work both for reloading as well as the cleaning up afterwards. But while you're out there shooting them they are just SOOOOO much fun!

My second New Army "Sheriff's" Model arrived yesterday!

I think it makes a great match to the one I got back in November:

I tried them in my Vaquero holsters and they do fit pretty nicely:

Nice Remmys and knife! I'm hooked for good as well, I like blackpowder! I have been shooting BP for about a year now, it really does change your mindset. I used to just listen to classic rock and mighty metallica, never did I imagine I'd listen to fife and drum music and like it. I've got plenty on my MP3 player.

kbbailey: do tell us 'bout the toad sticker with the pair of short '58s. That looks like a fine knife.

Thanks! That is a stag handled bowie from Bear & Son Cutlery. The sheath was made for me by Kid Couteau of Walking Wolf Leather.

The brass stud is to keep the sheath in position when worn in a boot. I have never used it as I couldn't bring myself to hide such a beautiful piece of work in my boot!

Wish I had bought a few more at the old prices, and on sale. Hindsight 20/20.
I shot my 58 Remmy for the first time yesterday. Sure is lots of fun!!!

The stud is made for a frog with a hole in it, whether separate or part of a sling, baldric, etc.
