If all your guns had to come from one manufacturer...

Of those making a single choice, the most votes, by far are for Ruger with 35. Smith & Wesson came in second with 17. CZ took the show position by one vote over FN, 11-10. Beretta and Colt tied for the fourth spot with four apiece. Springfield picked up three votes and H&K and Mossberg each got two. One vote each for Glock, H&K, Izhmash, Kimber, Marlin, Norinco, SIG, Walther and Wilson Combat.

I didn't count those responses without a clear choice. Nothing wrong with that but it's impossible to arbitrarily pick one when the person voting can't make a decision.

Personally, I couldn't pick one manufacturer anymore than I could pick my favorite gun, favorite caliber or any other arbitrary limit.

That's why I voted Norinco -- they make copies of everything! :D

CZ for me.

CZ 75 SP-01 (or compact models for carrying. wish they had a .40SW model.)
CZ 550 (wide range of calibers for hunting needs)
vz 58 (SHTF/fun/defense)
The tactical looking 550 IIRC for target shooting.
Since they own Dan Wesson throw some 1911's in there.
I will pass on their Turkish shotguns.

Seems like CZ has a decent variety of firearms and they won't break the bank. Other notable ones would be FNH, Ruger (chills down my spine) and Beretta w/ the Sako/Tikka line.

I'm mainly into shooting rifles but I also carry a shotgun in a gun rack in my truck. So I think this question should be broken down into a few additional categories such as favorite shotgun also. I favor Ruger rifles and Benelli shotguns.

I would choose Browning (or more appropriately FN and Miroku)

Pistol-Hi Power
Rifle- High Power
Shotgun-BSS
22 Pistol- Challenger
22 Rifle- Semi Automatic Rifle
Carry gun-The 1908 Hammerless (cant remember if this is it)
EBR- BAR
Crew served weapon- Ma Deuce

The only new production items here are the Hi Power, M2, and Semi Automatic Rifle. If I had to choose only new production items I would not want any manufacturer.

CZ all the way.....although for a pistol in 5.56, 6.8 or 7.62x39 I might go Robinson Arms XCR

Remington, no handguns, but shotguns and rifles are great substitutes.

The question in the OP reminds me of my roots in Commie blok E. Europe... no competition, no choices, no freedom. I don't think it was intended as such, but I will just say that I am glad that all of my guns don't have to come from the same maker.

Ruger, I suppose. Now that they make an AR, its an easier question to answer. Too bad they don't make an AK! Giving up the AK series would bring the most tears. Still, Ruger makes a great lineup of sporting and tacitical rifles as well as fine handguns.

i voted ruger about 3 or 4 pages ago. thinking about it more, and looking through my Standard Catalog of Smith & Wesson recently, i'm torn. lots of stuff in there i'd love to own. really, i think i could be okay with either one if such a choice were actually mandatory. CZ would be alright with me also, but is probably my third choice. thankfully, we don't have to make that choice. :)

Either Colt or S&W. Both make solid handguns and decent AR's. I'd hate to give up my Glocks, but Glock hasn't jumped on the AR bandwagon (or anything other than their basic, proven design bandwagon yet).
