If there's no legal open carry in TX, why the "BBQ gun?"

On your private property you and your guests can do pretty much whatever you like, depending on if you live in town or not.
The bullets can't leave your property.

TX has Zero tolerance drinking when concealed carrying.
If you intend carrying after leaving the BBQ you had better been drinking Ice tea.

You'll see more guns than a "Matrix" shootout.

Cannons too.

Not in attendence, seen the pictures tho'.

Yeah aside from the cannons it's nice to look around and know that everyone in the room/yard/vicinity is armed AND friendly.

THR gatherings are a hoot.

I always understood it was from the Texas Rangers (LEO not Baseball) wanting a 'dress pistol' for carry at formal functions. They are not of course restricted from open carry.

My Buddies

We have been doing this kind of thing for years.

When ever the old gang from high school gets together, we BBQ and show off our latest hardware. Almost all of us have CHLs and actively carry. Most of us buy a new gun every year or two and a few like to tinker so somebody normally has something for the rest of us to drool over.

Only a couple of us drink alcohol, so the beverages are limited to iced tea and soft drinks. We have great fun.

Heck I just came from a cowboy shoot. Everyone was openly carrying 2 hangguns, carting around 2+ longguns in a gun cart, and we ate BBQ after finishing the stages. Does that mean that my Taurus Gauchos qualify as BBQ guns?
