If you could only have ONE firearm, what would it be?

A single weapon? Why a shotgun? A guy standing a mere 100 m away can take you down with any rifle.

IMI TAR-21 or FN F2000. Its bullpup; handier than a carbine (more handier than many shotguns), longer/equal range to most Evil Black Rifles, the Tavor has VERY nice accuracy, and both are pretty reliable.

Plus i'd much rather have 30 round mags than 8 shells in the tube.

However, if i am with a large group.... and ANY gun....

Atchinson Assault Shotgun, 12 Gauge. Fully automatic, designed for 12 gauge Frag-12 shells, relentlessly reliable, 200 M range (with Frag-12), and still accepts normal 12 gauge 3 inch shells.

AND its drum fed:evil:

Stag AR-15

If I could choose one firearm to live with - it would be a Stag AR-15. Reason - versatility. Several Magpul magazines would be nice as well. Obviously there is no one gun that will do absolutely everything - but the Stag will cover many bases.

Hopefully none of us are left with only having to have just one gun.

Take care

Well, the OP insisted that the question was there without any implied context, and the sky doesn't seem to be falling. In any case, I wouldn't be broken hearted to be equipped with just one good firearm. Any of mine would do; I'd probably not squawk if it were just any one of yours, either.

The story I'll tell is, 'suppose that one took the aphorism, "beware the man with only one gun; he probably knows how to use it" a little more to heart than is customary. What would I choose for that exercise?'

The first gun that I'd try that with is an old 12 gauge Remington 870 pump shotgun that's well broken in, hence nice and smooth.

Again, though: about anything I have would work. Most of what you have would work, too. :)

I guess that I'd better put in my two cents' worth about this, as well. If you're on "the two-way range," nota bene: there are plenty of folks in the world whom you do not want shooting back at you with shotgun slugs from 100 yards away. ;)

Definitely a shotgun. Good for hunting and self-defense. Furthermore you could switch between buckshot, birdshot, and even a slug depending on the situation:)

870 Wingmaster- its fun for trap/skeet, very able for HD, and could work in a pinch if SHTF. Plus you can kill everything in this hemisphere with one.

Well, not everybody can use a smoothbore weapon and hit somebody 100 m away. I can't, not without multiple shots, at least. Plus, shotgun shells are bulky, but .223 is not.

And I can reload faster than you can refill your shotgun.

If my state allowed me to carry rifles, I think I'd get a reliable autoloading shotgun, with a 10 magnification scope on riser blocks, so I can still use the sights for self-defense and clay shooting, and use the scope when I need precision with slugs. I also believe that for about $500, I could get something to let it use different ammo. (Though it might function as a single-shot with those, and I could but a different gun for less money)

But, since I can't, I'm thinking I'd get a g35, with .22 and 9mm kits. (I'm not sure if there are 9mm kits, but I think so)

Glock 17-reliable,17 rnds at the ready, mags are robust and plentiful. Also the fact that a pistol wont draw as much attention as a rifle,it can also be concealed easily.Almost forgot parts are easy to come buy being that diff models use many common parts, not that I would need them
