Glock 19
Its reliable, accurate, day to work on. Its also a lot of fire power in a small light weight package. It would be hard to choose just one because I like so many. In the end I would keep the 19 because it is so versatile.

Ruger P95DC (decock only, no safety) big and ugly, but overbuilt and very reliable. Wish they still made this version.

For me it's my glock 19 third gen it does everything I ask of it and at 15 plus 1 I feel that I have plenty of capacity.

9x19 compact 1911 (Armscor makes a nice one)
XD9sc
Walther PPS or P99c

Any of those will serve as an "all purpose" 9x19 gun, until I can find and eliminate the reason for such a silly restriction.

I think i've shot everything on the list. For me, a 3-way tie:

BHP
S&W M39
FNX-9

Very different guns, but I'd be happy with any of these as my only pistol should it come to that.

Honorable mention to Kel-Tec PF-9, best value and utility as ccw pistol.

Never shot a BHP, but I have shot a lot of different 9s and my S&W 5906 is the one I would keep

I recently got rid of my Beretta 92f, gave it to my son. The only 9mm I kept was my Sig p239.

Glock 17/19/26 for me. Specifically, the 26. I love the 19 and 17, but the 26 is just much more comfortable to conceal in any situation, and that's my primary use for a handgun.

I did a lot of test driving before I bought my XD9. Its still my favorite and the one handgun I'm most accurate with.

I impulse-purchased the HK because it looks slick and they're supposed to be high-end. Mine had lots of little issues and it got traded for a pickup-truck.

The S&W MP was not around when I was shopping and I do admit I've never shot a CZ.
