A never issued or fired M1 Garand because I've never shot or owned one.
Yep with ya there!
But I'm torn.
Double rifle just like 308Norma said
cz 550 fs in 30-06 with a high end leupold/custom rifle along the same lines.. , Mauser action with iron sights ,quick detatch rings and high grade wood
Magnum research BFR in 454 , 6.5",custom grips
Smith and Wesson mountain gun in 41 mag, custom grips as well.
I'd finally buy an M1a, and tote it around like my old M14....*sigh.
The Johnson rifle I passed up 20 years ago at a gun show for 1500 bucks
In 30/40 Krag? Awesome stuff!
GA Precision Xtreme Hunter. Absolutely no need for one; just like it.
No, the Lewis only came in 303 and 30-06. I want one in 303. Hell, at this point I'd take a non firing dispaly gun...
I would imagine it would be (in boutique caliber speak) something like 6.35X51R or something like that. Sounds exotic, no?
H&K Mark 23, and some mags.
For me, probably a really, really nice 1911...
A Garand, ideally from 1943 to match my 03 and 03a3, although any solid M1 would do.
Browning M-2 "Ma Deuce" .50-cal machine gun.
I've always thought those were the coolest and wanted one since I was a kid. Totally practical too.
My dad picked one up somewhere about 30 years ago and had trouble getting $150 for it. That was before the milsurp stuff went through the roof. I took it out and put 50 rounds through it, just for fun. That thing would throw brass 30 feet, and never in the same direction.
For me, a FA Thompson. I could have bought one in the early 80s for $1200, paperwork and all. I figured it was just an expensive range toy, and passed on it.
A reproduction Spencer carbine in 56-50 (with brass and dies of course).
A Les Baer or similar custom 1911, because in real life I’ll never be able to personally justify the price of one!
Something like this from Derr Precision https://www.derrprecision.com/the-old-fox-and-young-colt/ or something from CT Brian http://www.ctbrian.com/Photos.html
A .303 British Lee Speed Sporting Rifle.
I like Lee Enfields and I especially like the .303 British cartridge.
Dan Wesson Bruin Bronze in 10mm
I'd like a Colt Officers Match Model 22.
You mean one of these? This one was never fired after proof testing.
As for my pick, I want one of those $5,000 semi-auto FG 42s
Oh my. I don't know if I could ever get one like that, because I'd have to shoot it at some point. Maybe one that's seen some action in its life would be better for someone like me. Still, that's one nice shooting iron you have there, sir.
Always wanted a Garand.
And an SVT40. Which I might go for, because Garands will be around in some form for a while.
