HB1100 the "Give al Qaeda and Illegal Aliens driver's license" bill comes up in the Senate Executive committee Hearing Wednesday May 2 2007 1:00PM Capitol room 212 and I need some help with phone calls to the committee. I don't know how you feel about 1100 but these are the same sponsors as the ones on the bad gun bills and Chicago being a sanctuary city really wants this to happen. I'm asking anyone who can, call any of the Executive committee folks below and ask them to vote NO on this bill Tuesday. They want to take our Second Amendment rights away while giving special rights to someone who is here illegally which ain't right in my estimation. Any help appreciated.
All in illegal alien/terrorist has to do is get a traffic ticket which is one form of non-photo ID accepted to board a plane or get into a Federal Building. You get a moving violation, surrender your driver certificate as bond and receive a piece of paper to go where you want. We cannot surrender the security of this state so easily.
HB1100 requires illegals to surrender any false driver's license/id's in their possession with immunity - fake documents will then be destroyed. This negates any chance of law enforcement to investigate crimes committed by people who use these illegal documents.
This violates 625 ILCS 5/6‑302a.
Sec. 6‑302. Making false application or affidavit ‑ Perjury.
(a) It is a violation of this Section for any person:
1. To display or present any document for the
purpose of making application for a driver's license or permit knowing that such document contains false information concerning the identify of the applicant;
HB1100 is also a violation of 20ILCS 2630/5b. In the event of identity theft, the law-abiding citizen/victim has no way of getting offenses committed by the illegal alien under a false identity expunged.
HB1100 grants illegals a 30 day grace period to get insurance - DO WE GET A 30 DAY GRACE PERIOD?? HECK NO!!!
This is a direct violation of Illinois Law 625ILCS 5/7-601a(a) No person shall operate, register or maintain registration of, and no owner shall permit another person to operate, register or maintain registration of, a motor vehicle designed to be used on a public highway unless the motor vehicle is covered by a liability insurance policy.
HB1100 states the Sec. of State "may", not shall require a photograph of the applicant.
The rule for a FOID card is that a photograph of the applicant must accompany the application. Since automobile accidents take more lives than firearms, it only makes sense that someone who has false documents should be required to submit a photograph with the application.
HB100 Does not specifically state when the certificates expire.
This is one problem that Tennessee had with their licensing program for Illegal Aliens. In that program, the Tennessee Secretary of State sent out renew notices to all people who’s license were about to expire and over 1/3rd of the renewal notices came back as undeliverable. Tennessee now has a bill that would limit these certificates to One year. There were reports that illegals arrived in TN. by the truckload just to get the driver's license then left the state and used those dr. lic. to get documents in other states
HB100 will cost the state an estimated $4,500,000 during the 08 fiscal year and generate an estimated $22,000,000 revenue during the fiscal year 09 yet after that, it will cost the state an estimated $10,000,000 - $12,000,000 annually and generate an estimated revenue of $3,300,000 annually thereafter. This would cost the state $44,500,000 - $52,500,000 in the 5 years that this law would be active yet the revenue it generated would only amount to $35,200,000 resulting in a loss of $17,300,000 to the state.
