For today, I had to pass up a great deal on a 98% 3" factory
nickel 2nd series (1947-1972) Colt Detective Special, with factory
S/N of 855XXX; and manufactuered between 1964-1965, as per
www.Proofhouse.com. These 3" Colts are as rare as hens teeth,
when found in this condition. The price was $529.88, without the
box and docs; but well worth the asking price~! With school fixing
too start, and other financial constraints at this time- I just could
not afford it. For those interested, this weapon can be seen at
Simmons Sporting Goods located at 2001-2nd Ave North in Bessemer,
AL 35020. Please contact Dale Smith or myself, with serious inquiries
only. PX: (205) 425-4720 or (205) 426-0490 Many thanks in advance.

PS: I think everyone here knows me well enough to know, that if I
could have affiorded it; it would have become a personal "SAFE
QUEEN" in my own collection~!

I'm shedding a tear for you Ala Dan. I've been looking for a standard Det. Special for the last six months and all the ones I'm finding seem to be overpriced for condition. Sounds like you found a great one at a great price, but at the wrong time.

Tonight I spoke with the owner of the aforementioned Colt Dick Special;
and much too my surprise, he is not even interested in trades~! :eek:

Seems as though he has his mind set on acquiring another "evil black
assault rifle" in the near future, and needs the funds for that project. :(
