I am wanting to reload for my 30-06 it is very hard to find componets.anyway I have gotten some H414 I was wanting to try some H4350, But no one knows when they will have any.I have found some IMR 4350.Is it worth getting my manuals show both is good.Is it worth picking up to try,or should I wait till I can maybe get some H4350

Hornady number nine manual list ....

H414 for 165-168 grain bullets .. start load 45.8 grs(2400 fps) to max 58.3 grs(2900 fps).

150 grain bullets ... 48.5 grs(2500 fps) to 58.8 grs(3000 fps)...

IMR 4350 is my #1 choice for 30-06! I use it under 165 gr game kings for deer and 180gr Partitions for Elk. Great powder for the good ole aught six.

I use nothing but H4350 for my bolt action 30-06 ammo but there's nothing wrong with IMR4350 either. That are both very close in charge weights and performance. Accurate also makes a 4350 and it's also a good powder for the 30-06.

I only like H4350 over IMR4350 because the Hodgdon variant produces less pressure than the IMR version but both are extremely accurate, I have used both...

Not to steal your thread question ! IMR 4064 is also a good powder. I just loaded up 20 rounds for my '06 today, took to range and was very pleased. At 100 yards, I had 4 shots about 3" above dead center bulls eye, 2 shots were cutting the same hole, the other two were right there also, with calipers, just at 1/2" group. I was using Hornady 150 gr. Sp and 49.4 gr. 4064, once fired brass.

Not a 30-06, but a 25-06. I use IMR4350. I get published book velocity along with good accuracy to 200 yards.
I am trying Reloaded 19 and Reloader 22 this weekend.
I think you will like IMR4350.

IMR 4350 is a good powder for 30-06 great for 165gr, but my favorite powder for 150gr by far is RL19, I know it seems to be a bit too slow burning but it works like a charm, high speed and deadly accurate. 61.5gr compressed charge is my favorite.

You can't go wrong with IMR 4350, .....especially if you have actually found some available!

I'm in the camp where filling the case produces better and more accurate ammo. I have found 4350 for the most part fills the case and my 30-06 ammo using it is very accurate. Sure 4895, 4064, BL-C(2), Benchmark, W760 and a WHOLE BUNCH MORE will all work very well but not fill the case as well as 4350 will. It's just what I think...

I used IMR-4350 for my 30-06 and .270 win. for years, and it was a very good powder in all aspects for those cartridges. Great velocities, and accuracy was stellar as well. As I worked up, I found that the best accuracy was obtained at the upper end of the charge.

I use nothing but IMR 4350 for my 30-06. Mostly with 190gr HPBT as I got a very good deal on a large deal at a show a few years back. Paid $50 for 500 of them. Sierras. I have tried the 168grs with success also.

Definitely encouraging to read these experiences. I have 35 rounds loaded up 54 - 57 gr IMR in .5 grain increments per 5 shots to test for accuracy and load safety. (I had already previously tried 52-53.5). 165 gr Core Lokts. Was actually contemplating heading out to get started for some testing this afternoon if I can get away from work.

When I get decent enough experience with the 165 gr loading I'll move on to the 180 NP. I had heard/read previously that W760 was a great powder for the 180 NP in 30.06 so I have a little of that to try too. Not in a hurry though as I still have enough Fed Premium NPs for my elk hunting.

I have used H4350, AA4350, and IMR 4350 in bolt action 30-06’s. H4350 came out in the 80's and was advertized as a duplicate of IMR 4350. AA4350 came out in the 90's (I think) and was also advertized as a duplicate of IMR 4350. A load which is very accurate with 165’s, 168’s SMK’s, and 175 SMK’s is 55.0 grains AA or IMR 4350, any case, any primer.

In my testing, my lot of H4350 was one grain slower than either IMR or AA4350. Accurate Arms did tell me that their powder is a pressure curve equivalent of IMR so the differences are just between lots.

For the 4350 powders, that is H4350/IMR 4350/AA4350, buy whatever is cheapest.

The H 4350 is slower burning in ever case I have seen, usually 1-1.5gr higher max in 30-06. The 4350s are a very versatile burn rate everything from my 6.5x55 to my 30-06 and 270 WSM all do well with at leased one bullet weight and IMR 4350, in the case of the 06 it is very usable from 150-180gr and some would even say 200gr but I have RL22 for that.
