There are some genuine US M1 Garands out there in pretty good (correct or collector grade) condition that were never used in war. The positives are that these rifles benefit from the latest design improvements and may have correct parts for the date of manufacture. They also generally have pretty good bores, depending on use. The downsides are that they don't have the nostalgia of actually being a war rifle. In general are the post war Garands as collectible as the wartime Garands? Do most folks prize them as much?
