I loaded most of the 155gr LRN I got from Meister, the .356 dia stuff. I had to shorten the OAl from 1.1 to 1.075, so I dropped my starting load from 4.4 to 4.3gr AA#2. Nice light target load, so I increased by .1 at a time. Oddly, the 4.4 is perfect,( 3 inch at 15 yards standing, fine for me), but at 4.5gr I started getting keyholing. That's odd. The Remington JHP I carry make a lot more recoil and boom than these target loads. Just odd.

I would bet that you are stripping the rifling from the bullet. With a fast powder pressure comes up very fast and the bullet is accellerated very quickly, I think you have found the limit for that bullet in that gun with that powder. You can drop to a slower powder and get more speed without stripping if you want.

You don't say what gun it is, but I am guessing it is a 9mm with shallow grooves in the rifling.

I had a gun that used to shoot 3.5 of Bullseye perfectly. But, 3.4 or 3.6 - forget it! I thought it was me at first, so I tried it on different days, and even had others try the loads. Same problem. .1 gr should not matter especially in a pistol.

Hey! My **** blew up!

.1g matters too often :banghead:

Some guns just like what they like, and they don't care if you like it; know what I mean?
