Internal lock removal?

Can gunsmiths COMPLETELY 100% remove the internal locking system in revolvers?

How much would such a job cost? Is it legal? Do they even offer that service?

Just wondering.

Somewhere, at some cost, someone's doing it.

Personally, I find it considerably easier just not to buy guns with internal locks.

That's why I buy older Smith and Wessons,without the lock.

It's pretty easy to remove the lock components, you're going to have a hard time finding a gunsmith that will remove it or fill the hole for liability reasons. There are instructions on www.smith-wessonforum.com If you remove the lock do not sell the pistol without reinstalling it.
